On the evening of October 25th, the Miss Grand 2024 final took place in Bangkok, Thailand, with Rachel Gupta from India winning the title. Second runner-up was Thae Su Nyein from Myanmar, and first runner-up was awarded to the representative from the Philippines.

Among the winners, Thae Su Nyein's second runner-up title was considered a surprise at this year's competition. Before the final, many websites predicted that the Myanmar beauty could win first runner-up and be a strong contender for the Miss title.
Thae Su Nyein herself felt a little disappointed after winning the second runner-up title. Standing on stage to receive the award, Thae Su Nyein looked quite sad. In some moments after the awards ceremony, the 17-year-old beauty was caught crying and her face looked unhappy.
When Thae Su Nyein was approached by reporters after the final, an incident occurred. The national director of the Miss Grand Myanmar organization snatched the crown from Thae Su Nyein's head.

The video of her snatching the crown went viral on social media. In another video, Thae Su Nyein is seen looking sad and distraught as she walks away with her team.
On her personal page, the national director of the Miss Grand Myanmar organization posted a controversial status update, declaring she was "quitting" the Miss Grand competition.
Previously, Thae Su Nyein also attracted attention when she cried after her performance in the national costume segment of the Miss Grand International 2024 competition. Many viewers believed that Thae Su Nyein was upset because she wasn't allowed to bring her original design onto the stage.
However, in an interview with the media, the 17-year-old beauty said that she cried because she was so immersed in the character. Thae Su Nyein also admitted that she and the team were a little disappointed that they couldn't bring all of her ideas to the stage because they were worried about affecting the stage design, LED lighting system, etc.
Thae Su Nyein is representing Myanmar at the Miss Grand Myanmar 2024 pageant. She was crowned Miss Grand Myanmar at the age of 16, making her the youngest contestant this year. The 17-year-old beauty is considered a prominent and promising face from Southeast Asia in this year's competition.

In the final night, the beauty queen from Myanmar also received two additional awards.
The best achievement of a representative from Myanmar at the Miss Grand International pageant was the first runner-up title in the 2023 competition, held in Vietnam.
