Indian media on April 13 quoted official sources as saying that the Covid-19 pandemic in the country is moving into the endemic phase, so the number of new cases is expected to continue to increase in the next 10-12 days and then gradually decrease.

Data from the Indian Ministry of Health showed that on April 12, the country recorded 7,830 new Covid-19 cases, the highest in the past 223 days. The number of active cases of SARS-CoV-2 virus also increased to 40,215. The number of new Covid-19 cases is increasing in India mainly due to the XBB.1.16 sublineage of the Omicron variant. However, the rate of hospitalization for Covid-19 is low and is expected to remain very low.

Not only in India, the number of Covid-19 cases is increasing again in some countries such as South Korea, Australia... Many experts believe that this could be a sign that the SARS-CoV-2 virus is turning into an endemic state and will not cause a new wave.
