The drone competition between two teams from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and France recreated images of famous wonders in the sky of Nha Trang, taking the audience from one surprise to another.
On the evening of August 3, the closing ceremony of the Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival 2024 with the theme “Convergence of Wonders” was held on Hon Tre Island, Nha Trang City. During this competition night, two teams from France and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) performed a carefully invested “light party” in the Nha Trang night sky. Opening the competition night, the UAE team made the Nha Trang summer night explode with a performance of light magic that left a strong impression on the audience. The drones used by the UAE team are super light, super bright and combine pyrotechnics. Not only did the team invest heavily, they also had a deep understanding of tourism , culture and history of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa in particular and Vietnam in general. The image of Dong Son bronze drums opens up a space imbued with Vietnamese culture, history and people. The UAE team completely conquered the hearts of Vietnamese audiences when recreating symbolic images of the strength, sacredness, origin, character and soul of the Vietnamese people. The image of the Lac bird carries a great symbolic meaning about historical origins, encouraging the aspiration to rise up, preserve and build the country. Many people and tourists came to Hon Tre Island, Nha Trang City to admire the extremely impressive performances. Nicknamed “sky artists”, the French team used about 1,000 drones with impressive 3D shapes, combined with fire magic performances, bringing the audience a journey back to the past. Right from the first moments, the French team chose a sophisticated performance style when vividly recreating images of ancient wonders such as: Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Great Pyramid of Giza, Lighthouse of Alexandria... Hundreds of thousands of spectators were overwhelmed by the appearance of Ha Long Bay. This is the pride of Vietnam when it is honored to be recognized by UNESCO as a world natural heritage. The French team, representing love, poetry and romance, sent messages of love to the country and people of Vietnam. The UAE team won the championship of the Nha Trang International Bay of Light Festival 2024 with a classy performance that conquered all the senses of the organizers and the audience. The best technical performance category belonged to the Korean team. The best image category belonged to the French team. The best story category belonged to the Chinese team.
On the closing night of the Nha Trang International Bay of Light Festival 2024, Khanh Hoa province became the first locality in the country to set two Guinness world records: The world's largest light show of wonders, the world's largest light show of Vietnamese cultural symbol - Lac bird.
It is estimated that during the 2 weeks of the Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival 2024, Khanh Hoa province welcomed nearly 1 million tourists to visit and relax. Hotels in the center of Nha Trang city achieved an average room occupancy rate of over 90%.
