Developing synchronous infrastructure - a premise for socio -economic development
Over the past 30 years, Ba Ria - Vung Tau has invested tens of thousands of billions of VND to build technical infrastructure, creating a major turning point for the local socio-economic development. Fundamentally changing the appearance of urban and rural areas; creating a ripple effect to attract investors, improving the material and spiritual life of the people, worthy of being one of the localities with high socio-economic development speed in the Southern Key Economic Zone and the whole country.
According to the general assessment, looking from the urban space, the urban appearance of Ba Ria - Vung Tau has had clear changes in the past 30 years. All urban areas in the province are being reviewed, the general planning has been adjusted and has been approved for submission for approval as a basis for attracting investment in urban development with focus and key points to gradually improve the quality of urban areas.
From Ba Ria City, a modern administrative center, to Phu My City, a dynamic industrial city, or Long Son urban area, an industrial - port - petrochemical development area, all are planned in a sustainable, green and smart direction.
A series of new urban areas are being and will be implemented, creating a diverse and modern satellite urban network, such as: Chau Duc new urban area associated with Sonadezi industrial park and residential areas with quality planning, forming a multifunctional industrial-urban-service ecosystem; Southwest Ba Ria urban area, Northern Phuoc Thang urban area, Cu Bi-Chau Duc urban area are planned synchronously, integrating green space, moderneducation , healthcare and commercial services; Long Son riverside ecological urban area, Loc An-Binh Chau, Charm Resort Ho Tram, NovaWorld Ho Tram, Ixora Ho Tram by Fusion, Melia Ho Tram... shaping high-quality living space and developing international-class resort services.
“Ecosystem” of Transportation - Urban - Industry - Seaport
According to the Planning of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province develops according to a multi-center urban model with the urban areas of Vung Tau, Phu My, Ba Ria, Long Dien, Long Hai, connected by a synchronous and modern urban transport system such as the urban road system and metro and monorail routes.
This phase will strongly develop suburban areas, coastal areas, and rural areas. Satellite cities play a core role in leading suburban development, including 1 type IV urban area (Ngai Giao town, Chau Duc district), 8 type V urban areas (Phuoc Buu, Binh Chau, Hoa Binh, Ho Tram, Dat Do, Phuoc Hai, Loc An, Kim Long) and 1 marine ecological urban area (Con Dao).
Currently, all urban areas have had their general construction plans established and approved. The main functional areas in the urban areas have had their 1/2000 scale zoning plans approved, and at the same time, the 1/500 scale detailed plans have been gradually covered, serving as the basis for urban management according to the plan.

The whole province has 4 provincial planning projects, 11 general urban planning projects and 100% of communes have approved general planning for communes. Old urban areas such as the Southern area of Vung Tau City Airport, the central urban area of Ba Ria, and the central areas of district towns have been renovated and built.
Urban space has been developing and expanding rapidly to new urban areas such as Chi Linh center, North of the airport (Vung Tau city); provincial administrative center, Dinh riverside area, Ba Ria city; Phu My new urban area, Dat Do town, Phuoc Hai town (Long Dat district).
A series of key projects, traffic axes connecting ports, industrial parks and urban areas... have been and are being implemented in the form of public-private partnerships (PPP), strongly mobilizing non-budgetary capital.
The province also proactively expands inter-regional cooperation with neighboring localities to develop a fully connected transport system, not only in terms of infrastructure but also in regional planning, urban space development, and environmental protection. This creates a dynamic economic region with strong spillover effects.
Infrastructure projects, seaports, strategic traffic axes and modern urban areas not only contribute to improving the quality of life for people, but also lay a solid foundation for Ba Ria - Vung Tau to grow strongly.
