In June 2014, the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex was inscribed by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site based on three outstanding criteria: outstanding global cultural values; aesthetic values; and outstanding global geological and geomorphological values. Over the past 10 years, the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex has become a model highly valued by UNESCO for its harmonious balance between conservation and development within a World Heritage site.
Tomorrow (April 17th), the 1,100th anniversary of the birth of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang and the opening of the Hoa Lu Festival 2024 will be held in Ninh Binh . This is one of the province's largest traditional festivals, contributing to reviving patriotic traditions, national pride and self-respect, and promoting the unique cultural features and famous landmarks of Ninh Binh.
Besides the 10th anniversary celebration of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site (April 26th), many cultural and tourism activities and events are also being held in Ninh Binh during this period. A highlight is the 15-minute medium-range fireworks display in the Hoa Lu ancient town (Ninh Binh city), following the "Brilliant Hoa Lu" art program on the evening of April 30th.
Ms. Tran Thi Diep Anh, Executive Director of Hoa Lu Ancient Town, said: "The 'Brilliant Hoa Lu' program is part of a series of events celebrating the 10th anniversary of Trang An being recognized as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site. The music night features many famous artists, combining modern technology with a festival atmosphere of 'on the docks and on the boats' - a typical of the Trang An riverine region. We believe that through this activity, Ninh Binh's night tourism products will spread, develop, and become more widely known to tourists."
