The qualifying round of the 2nd Vietnam Youth and Student Football Tournament 2024 for the northern region is about to kick off at the Water Resources University stadium from February 26th to March 5th, with the participation of 9 teams, including the host team Water Resources University, Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports, Phuong Dong University, National Economics University, Dai Nam University, Hanoi University, University of Physical Education and Sports, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, and Phenikaa University.

At the technical meeting with representatives from the 9 teams participating in the northern qualifying round, representatives from the organizing committee, including Thanh Nien Newspaper, in coordination with the match supervision team, referees of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), and partner units serving in security and medical services, reiterated the regulations and rules of the tournament, answered professional questions, and discussed the organization of the tournament.

Here, representatives from the nine teams expressed their gratitude to the tournament organizers for their thorough, systematic, and meticulous organization, from the initial registration process and distribution of regulations to the draw for the group stage and the preparation for the tournament.

Coach Pham Minh, head coach of the University of Physical Education and Sports team, shared: "I thank the organizers for creating such a beneficial playground to promote and build the student football movement." Coach Nguyen Son of the Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports team commented: "It's been a long time since we participated in a student football tournament. The tournament was meticulously and thoughtfully prepared in every aspect. I would like to thank the organizers for providing a professional playing field, helping students gain experience, interact, and improve their skills."

Coaches and school representatives had no questions or complaints about the organization, as all aspects were fully planned and executed. Through the technical meeting, the tournament organizing committee, along with Thanh Nien Newspaper and the experienced VFF professional team, provided thorough and detailed explanations of the tournament's operation. Regulations and rules were clearly presented, combined with a Q&A session allowing team representatives to exchange professional knowledge in a constructive and open-minded manner.

The tournament organizers, along with the Water Resources University, held a dress rehearsal for the opening ceremony.

Mr. Tran Quang Tuyen, a member of the organizing committee, commented: "I hope that the participating teams will compete with the principle of fair play, abide by the rules, respect the fans, avoid violence on the field, and promote a football culture in line with the spirit of youth. To successfully organize the tournament, teams need to maintain a calm attitude, ensure professional conduct, and uphold a spirit of sportsmanship. Mr. Nguyen Trung Viet, Vice Rector of the Water Resources University, emphasized: " Thanh Nien Newspaper, the Water Resources University, and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) have meticulously planned the organization in terms of security, medical care, and professional aspects… The parties have agreed to finalize negotiations with partners to prepare security forces to protect the match, on duty throughout the match and the opening and closing ceremonies, ensuring that the matches are conducted in a civilized manner, in accordance with the spirit of: playing beautifully, winning beautifully, and cheering beautifully."
