According to the Provincial People's Committee's plan, the 2025 Independence Day celebration will take place over four days (from August 30th to September 2nd, 2025), on a provincial scale, and will be held in Than Uyên commune. It is expected to attract over 800 delegates, artists, athletes, journalists, businesses, and tourists.
At the meeting, the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented the draft assignment of tasks and sought feedback from the members of the Organizing Committee for the 2025 Independence Day Celebration. Accordingly, the Organizing Committee consists of 21 members, with Comrade Tong Thanh Hai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, serving as the Head of the Organizing Committee. The members are representatives from relevant departments, agencies, and localities.
At the meeting, representatives from Than Uyên commune provided information on the progress of preparations for the 2025 Independence Day celebrations. Accordingly, Than Uyên commune has issued a plan for organizing Independence Day activities and the Than Uyên Commune Cultural and Sports Festival in 2025; drafted decisions on: establishing subcommittees for advisory and support; establishing a judging panel and referee team; recruiting performers; regulations and rules for cultural and sports activities within the framework of the event; contacted the organizing unit to prepare for the KOMOMO Than Uyên 2025 International Running Race and motorized paragliding; implemented renovation and repair of the commune's stadium; and carried out publicity work for the event.
In the coming time, Than Uyen commune will coordinate with Muong Than, Muong Kim, Khoen On communes to unify the content and methods of organizing activities according to the plan. Of which, about 2,000 people will be mobilized to participate in the solidarity dance "Sparkling colors of Than Uyen - Lai Chau" and more than 1,000 people will participate in the flag-raising ceremony. Logistics, facilities, plans to ensure health , security, order and environment are also being focused on preparation. At the same time, Than Uyen commune also pointed out some difficulties and problems in the implementation process and proposed solutions to organize the event with the best results.
At the meeting, delegates generally agreed with the draft assignment of tasks and proposed adding content related to healthcare and disease prevention during the event.
The discussions also focused on many important issues such as: preparing infrastructure; evaluating the script; budgeting; mobilizing participating forces; ensuring security and order, fire prevention and control, traffic safety; providing electricity for the event; organizing cultural and sports activities; publicity and communication before, during and after the event…
Concluding the meeting, Comrade Tong Thanh Hai – Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee for the 2025 Independence Day Celebration – emphasized: The organization of the Independence Day celebration must place the people at the center, aiming to create a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere so that each citizen can feel the joy and pride of this great festival. Through this, it contributes to educating patriotism, fostering national pride, and promoting the beauty of the people and land of Lai Chau to friends and tourists.
The comrade urged departments, agencies, and localities to focus intensely and enhance their sense of responsibility in the implementation and organization of activities. The 2025 Independence Day celebrations must ensure absolute safety and comprehensiveness according to the "6 Safeties" principle: Security and order – Traffic safety – Food safety – Healthcare safety – Electrical safety – Media safety (preventing any media crises). Preparations need to be thorough and meticulous; each activity must have a specific plan, clearly defining responsibilities, tasks, timelines, and expected results.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested that surveys be conducted soon, routes be mapped, guidance personnel and medical staff be deployed, and plans be in place to ensure the absolute safety of the athletes. Experiential activities for tourists should be emphasized, creating unique highlights for the event.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is tasked with leading and proactively guiding localities in implementing communication activities; and at the same time, preparing well for press conferences and providing complete information about the event to the press and media.
