At the conference, Ms. Huynh Thi Phuc, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the 15th term of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the National Assembly Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City currently has 44 delegates and is expected to be divided into 15 groups of delegates. Thus, when meeting voters before and after the meeting, it will be spread across 168 communes and wards. There may be over 80 voter contact points.

Ms. Phuc hopes that the press will join in creating conditions for the National Assembly Delegation and National Assembly Deputies to share their information in a more professional manner. It will also promote the spirit of propaganda on digital platforms as well as information technology to help spread and disseminate information about economic and political information as well as National Assembly activities.

"I hope that the press, together with the National Assembly Delegation, will have better developments in communication work about elected bodies and the activities of the National Assembly , contributing to the overall development of the city and carrying out the tasks assigned by the Central Government to Ho Chi Minh City," said Ms. Phuc.

Ho Chi Minh City press clearly reflects the activities of the National Assembly Delegation

Contributing to the conference, Mr. Mai Ngoc Phuoc, Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper, commented that the Ho Chi Minh City press has recently clearly reflected the activities of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation. At the same time, many delegates have also actively coordinated with the press to speak out on issues that voters and people are interested in and concerned about.

According to Mr. Phuoc, in addition to reporting on the activities of Ho Chi Minh City in general and the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation in particular, the press also plays the role of a bridge, conveying the thoughts and aspirations of the people. Mr. Phuoc hopes that the delegates will listen, receive those reflections and respond back through the press, so that the people feel that their voices are heard.

Mr. Phuoc emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City press not only reflects, but also plays an important role in criticizing and contributing ideas to build policies and guidelines.

"Some delegates shared with me that many contents published in the newspapers Phap Luat TP.HCM, Thanh Nien, Tuoi Tre ... have been received and discussed at the parliament", the Editor-in-Chief of Phap Luat TP.HCM said and expressed that in the coming time, he hopes that delegates will continue to accompany and participate with the press in discussions, seminars, and policy comments, so that the policies and regulations issued are close to real life.

Mr. Phuoc also proposed that the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation increase regular exchanges with the press, proactively share information about activities and work orientations so that media agencies can promptly update and disseminate to voters and people of Ho Chi Minh City.

Similarly, Colonel Phan Tung Son, Chief Representative of the People's Army Newspaper in Ho Chi Minh City, said that communication work on the activities of the National Assembly Delegation needs to be raised to a new level, shifting from reflective thinking to creative thinking.

According to Mr. Son, current information still mainly stops at reporting and reflecting the surface, while modern media trends require more depth, critical perspectives and clear scientific content.

Mr. Son suggested that each speech of the delegates should be built as a valuable topic that can be spread in the media. In addition, Mr. Son suggested establishing a direct connection group, such as a Zalo group between the leaders of the National Assembly delegation and press agencies, to ensure quick and accurate information sharing.

Mr. Son also emphasized the need to quantify the activities of the Delegation, helping voters and the press monitor the progress of resolving petitions, while creating conditions for the media to accurately and correctly reflect the concerns from the grassroots.

Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper, Ms. Pham Thi Van Anh, highly appreciated the cooperative relationship between the press and the National Assembly Delegation. At the same time, she emphasized that this is not simply a relationship of providing and receiving information, but a symbiotic relationship, working together to improve the effectiveness of supervision, social criticism and contributing to policy making from practice.

Ms. Van Anh believes that the press needs to be given timely access to information, especially on sensitive issues and content that requires frank and constructive comments.

In addition to organizing regular press conferences, she proposed expanding the form of thematic contacts, discussions, and workshops with specific groups of people such as women, businessmen, and scientists to receive multi-dimensional voices from society.

“Establishing a clear information hub and creating a flexible mechanism for the press to access will help improve the quality of content and protect the reputation of delegates and press agencies in the context of modern media that requires accuracy, objectivity and timeliness,” said Ms. Van Anh.

The press actively criticizes and contributes opinions

Concluding the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation, affirmed that he would accept comments from leaders of press and media agencies to improve the quality of the delegation's activities in the coming time.

Mr. Loi said that the upcoming focus of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation is to participate in institutional building, both at the central and local levels. "Currently, the City Party Committee has directed and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee is building and proposing a number of specific mechanisms for the new Ho Chi Minh City. We hope that the press agencies will actively criticize and contribute ideas, becoming a forum for people to give advice to the city," Mr. Loi said.

According to Mr. Loi, with its expanded administrative boundaries, the new Ho Chi Minh City requires a smarter management method, and the administrative procedure system must also be more transparent and modern. Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation plans to organize a thematic survey on building digital government, reforming administrative procedures, etc.

The head of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly delegation also hopes that the press will continue to promote its role as a forum to reflect the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of the people, especially on long-standing pressing issues, "hot" issues that have existed for many years and have not been resolved, as well as contribute to policies that are not close to the practical life of the people and voters.
