Billiards schedule today: Vietnamese players show off their skills at the Gwangju World Cup

On the first day of competition of the Gwangju 2025 Billiards World Cup taking place in Korea, 6 Vietnamese players competed.

The penultimate stage of the 2025 Billiards World Cup under the International Carom Billiards Federation (UMB) system will be held in Gwangju - Korea from November 3 to 9. This time, Vietnamese billiards will participate with a strong squad, with up to 19 players participating. On the opening day of the competition (November 3), 6 Vietnamese players will take the field in the first qualifying round including: Truong Huynh Quoc Dat, Pham Van Son, Do Nguyen Trung Hau, Nguyen Huu Thanh, Dinh The Vinh, Nguyen Tran Thanh Tao.

Accordingly, Do Nguyen Trung Hau is in group B with two Korean players, Kim Jae-jung and Park Chun Woo. Trung Hau will compete in two time slots: 12:00 and 15:00.

Nguyen Huu Thanh is in group C with two Turkish players: Koseoglu Ahmet and Doganoglu Adem. Huu Thanh also plays at 12:00 and 15:00.

Truong Huynh Quoc Dat is in group E with Arai Tatsuo (Japan) and Pereyra Juanjo (Spain). Quoc Dat will play at 9am against Pereyra Juanjo. Depending on the result of the first match, Quoc Dat will play the decisive match at 12pm or 3pm.

Before the match in Korea, Thanh Tao was in good form when he won the Phuc Thinh Super Cup.

Pham Van Son is in group H with Funaki Shouta (Japan) and Kwon Min-su (Korea). Van Son will play at 12:00 and 15:00.

Nguyen Tran Thanh Tao is in Group I with Yehia Adham (Egypt) and Song Sock-kyu. Thanh Tao will compete at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Dinh The Vinh is in the group of Park Sang-june (Korea) and Turan Halis (Türkiye). The Vinh will play at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

All matches of Vietnamese players at the Gwangju Billiards World Cup 2025 will be broadcast live on the SOOP Live platform (link: https://billiards.sooplive.co.kr/schedule).

The first qualifying round has 48 players competing, divided equally into 16 groups (3 players each). The players compete in a round robin to calculate points and rank. Accordingly, the top 16 players in each group will qualify for the second qualifying round.
