Nhan Dan Newspaper installs smart interactive stations at famous landmarks of Kien Giang

NDO - On April 3 and 4, Nhan Dan Newspaper coordinated with technology partners to implement the project "Love Vietnam" to install Near-Field Communications (NFC) chip boards - wireless connection technology in Kien Giang province.

“Love Vietnam so much” is a campaign carried out under the direction of Nhan Dan Newspaper to respond to the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Accordingly, the campaign applies wireless connection technology solutions to promote historical and cultural sites across the country; create unique discovery experiences for tourists; support and promote tourism between localities, responding to and being suitable for the development of society in the current digital age.

The NFC chip board is located at Mac Cuu Tomb in Binh San Mountain National Scenic Site.

In Kien Giang province, with the approval of the Provincial Standing Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, reporters of Nhan Dan Newspaper and engineers of Phygital Labs Joint Stock Company installed NFC chip panels at 3 locations: National historical site of Nguyen Trung Truc Tomb and Communal House, Vinh Thanh ward, Rach Gia city; National scenic site of Binh San Mountain, Binh San ward, Ha Tien city; Special national historical site of Phu Quoc Prison, An Thoi ward, Phu Quoc city. Smart interactive stations enhance convenience for tourists and people (completely free).

According to a representative of Phygital Labs Joint Stock Company, the technology solution includes two parts: a physical interactive station with a chip attached and a website for visitors to access after touching their phone to the smart interactive station with the chip attached.

The interactive station will have a uniform design with two colors of yellow and red inspired by the Vietnamese national flag; it can operate without electricity. People can connect to the smart interactive station using a phone with short-range wireless technology to access a link of the website "Love Vietnam". Each smart interactive station will provide stories and images about the location and province, city where the interactive station is located; at the same time, it will provide features to look up, navigate, and find information to explore tourist destinations at the current location and neighboring areas.

People can check in to see how many people have checked in at this location and can upload their photos along with messages to the program “Love Vietnam”. These photos and messages will be collected and combined into a map of Vietnam with full images of people from all over the country.

Kien Giang is a province with a rich revolutionary tradition, beautiful natural landscapes, and many famous landscapes. The Resolution of the 11th Kien Giang Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025 sets out the goal of exploiting potential strengths, especially marine economy, tourism and industry; promoting economic restructuring towards increasing the proportion of services and industry. The province strives to maintain its position as one of the leading developing provinces in the Mekong Delta and become a fairly developed province in the country by 2030.

In recent times, the tourism potential of Kien Giang province has been promoted. According to the Department of Tourism of Kien Giang province, in 2024, the province's tourism industry will welcome more than 9.8 million visitors; of which international visitors will welcome more than 978,800. Phu Quoc city alone will welcome about 6 million visitors. Total revenue from tourism will reach about VND 25,141 billion (up 43.8% over the same period, exceeding the annual plan by 25.7%).

In the first quarter of 2025 alone, Kien Giang province welcomed more than 3.1 million tourists, an increase of 13.7% over the same period in 2024, reaching 28.4% of the 2025 plan; of which, international visitors are estimated to welcome nearly 480,000, an increase of 65% over the same period, reaching 40% of the yearly plan. Total revenue from tourism activities reached 13,047 billion VND, an increase of 79.4% over the same period, reaching 45.8% of the 2025 plan.
