(Dan Tri) - On December 3, the Hoi An Local Products Museum opened at 57 Tran Phu, Hoi An ancient town, officially opening to serve domestic and foreign tourists.
This event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hoi An ancient town being recognized as a World Cultural Heritage (December 4, 1999 - December 4, 2024), the 7th anniversary of the art of Bài Chòi in Central Vietnam being recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (2017-2024), and the year Hoi An joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
The establishment of the Hoi An Local Products Museum is a creative direction to display, introduce, promote and develop spices and local products of Hoi An in particular and Quang Nam in general; creating a new, unique and attractive tourist destination in the old town.

Hoi An Local Products Museum is located in an ancient house with a 2-storey structure with 2 houses connected by a connecting house - sky yard, conveniently located to connect with other thematic museums such as the Museum of Traditional Medicine (46 Nguyen Thai Hoc), the Museum of Trade Ceramics (80 Tran Phu), the Museum of Folk Culture (33 Nguyen Thai Hoc), creating a chain of thematic museum systems in Hoi An.

The total area of Hoi An Local Products Museum is about 240m2, presenting 4 main themes, including: Overview of Hoi An, Quang Nam local products; Hoi An - a transit point for spices and local products of Quang Nam; Introduction to some typical and endemic local products of Hoi An, Quang Nam such as bird's nest, lao leaves, pepper, areca, cinnamon, tea, agarwood...; Hoi An, Quang Nam local products continue and develop.

The themes are displayed and presented with nearly 130 images, documents, books, ancient maps; 178 artifacts of high historical and cultural value combined with a number of models, sand tables, and specimens with diverse shapes, materials, solutions, etc. All are arranged harmoniously and vividly, deeply reflecting the content and demonstrating high aesthetic value.
At the opening ceremony, the Hoi An Cultural Heritage Management and Conservation Center introduced and launched a book on spices and local products of Hoi An, Quang Nam, including 38 articles by experts and researchers.
Mr. Pham Phu Ngoc - Director of Hoi An Cultural Heritage Management and Conservation Center - said that connecting the thematic museum system will create a chain of attractive tourist attractions, contributing to attracting tourists to the eastern area of the old town, creating conditions for local people in this area to develop services for tourists, improving their lives.
