Car transporting 12,000 illegal chickens seized in Quang Ninh

On October 13, the Border Guard of Quang Ninh province said that while performing patrol and control duties on the border, the patrol and control team of Quang Duc Border Guard Station (Quang Ninh Border Guard) discovered and arrested a subject using a car to illegally transport 12,000 breeding chickens.

Previously, at 7:30 p.m. on October 12, at National Highway 18C, at landmark 1342(3)+150m, in Ban Van Toc, Quang Duc commune (Hai Ha, Quang Ninh), the working group of Quang Duc Border Guard Station was on patrol and control duty on the border line.

During the patrol, the task force discovered car with license plate 14A-842.40 parked on Highway 18C and 5 men loading black plastic trays from the border stream bank onto the car, inside the black plastic trays were chicks.

The task force signaled the subjects to stop for inspection. When they saw the border guards, the subjects fled into the forest to hide. The task force pursued and arrested one subject, the driver of the car with license plate 14A-842.40.

During an inspection of the vehicle, the authorities discovered 16 black plastic trays, each containing chicks.

The task force inspected the area around the arrest area and discovered 32 black plastic trays containing chicks next to the road, near the border stream. Each black plastic tray contained 250 chicks. In total, there were 48 trays containing 12,000 chicks.

The working group quickly investigated at the scene and identified the driver as Bui Xuan Truong (36 years old, in Hai Yen ward, Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh).

At the time of inspection, Bui Xuan Truong could not present any documents related to the above chicks. Truong stated that he was hired by someone else to transport the chicks smuggled across the border from China to Vietnam at border marker 1342(3)+150m to Quang Minh commune, Hai Ha district, for a fee of 1 million VND/trip.

The working group requested Mr. Truong to bring the vehicle and the above chicks to Quang Duc Border Guard Station for verification and handling in accordance with the law.
