Arrest of a case of transporting 3 tons of smuggled sugar through Ha Tinh

Ha Tinh Market Management Force in coordination with the provincial police has just seized 3 tons of smuggled sugar circulating through the province.

Previously, on September 12, on National Highway 1 through Ky Anh district, Market Management Team No. 6 (Ha Tinh Market Management Department) coordinated with the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police to stop and check a truck with license plate 74H-00614 driven by Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Thanh (residing in Gio Chau commune, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri ) in the South-North direction.

Through inspection, the authorities discovered 3 tons of refined sugar (ERAWAN SUGAR, packaging stated as produced in Thailand) without invoices or documents proving the legality of the goods.

Authorities seized 3 tons of smuggled sugar.

Market Management Team No. 6 is temporarily holding all of the above goods for verification and handling according to the provisions of law.

It is known that previously, from June 10 to July 6, Market Management Team No. 6 and the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police also arrested 3 cars transporting 20.1 tons of smuggled sugar through the area.

In the coming time, the units will continue to strengthen the work of infiltrating facilities, focusing on monitoring means of transport to promptly detect and handle violations to contribute to a healthy market and protect consumer rights.
