Spreading the spirit of preserving the Vietnamese language.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, Japan, Vu Chi Mai, emphasized: “Preserving and spreading the Vietnamese language among the overseas Vietnamese community is a sacred duty, connecting the younger generation with their roots. The representative offices will continue to accompany, connect with, and support practical initiatives like this program.”

From Thailand, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh (Khon Kaen ) shared: “The Vietnamese community in Thailand has a long history, and teaching Vietnamese to the younger generation has always been a priority for them. This training course is a valuable opportunity for teachers from many countries to learn modern methods and connect closely with the community in Vietnam. This is an important foundation for preserving the Vietnamese language and nurturing love for the homeland in the hearts of the younger generation.”
The dedication of the faculty and students
More than just a culmination of the course, the closing ceremony also became a space for instructors and trainees to express their feelings after nearly two months of dedication. The heartfelt stories, experiences, and sharing affirmed the significance of the training course, further fostering a sense of responsibility and love for the Vietnamese language.

Speaking on behalf of the Advisory Board, Professor Nguyen Minh Thuyet emotionally expressed: “I am deeply moved to witness the serious participation of over 500 teachers from around the world . Even though we are teaching in distant countries, each of us shares a common passion for preserving and passing on the Vietnamese language to the younger generation. I believe that this bond and sharing will create immense strength so that the Vietnamese language will always be cherished, respected, and resonate throughout the five continents.”
According to the organizers' summary, the training course, held from July 26th to September 20th, included five focused online sessions with practical content; over 550 teachers and trainees from 30 countries and territories participated; and hundreds of assignments were submitted, contributing to the creation of a shared resource library for teaching. The teaching staff included Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Thuyet, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Thi, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Cam Lan, and Dr. Nguyen Khanh Ha.

Representing the trainees, Venerable Thich Phap Quang, Abbot of Truc Lam Zen Monastery in Sri Lanka, also shared a touching story: “The Vietnamese community in Sri Lanka numbers less than 200 people, but we still maintain three Vietnamese language classes with over 60 students. Thanks to this training course, we have access to a well-structured curriculum and learn modern methods from experienced instructors. Above all, we have the opportunity to interact and learn valuable experiences from teachers around the world – this is a great motivation to continue preserving the Vietnamese language in Sri Lanka.”
Towards a global network
At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee also announced a series of upcoming activities: the official launch of the Global Network for Teaching Vietnamese Language and Culture, connecting online worldwide on September 29th; the development of a "Map of Vietnamese Language Classes Worldwide" to serve as a basis for policy planning; cooperation with the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) to digitize materials, develop an electronic learning resource library, and apply information technology in teaching and learning; and the organization of regular training and consultation sessions to support overseas Vietnamese teachers and share practical experiences.

With the motto "Global solidarity – Respect for diversity – Encouraging appropriate solutions in each country/region," the Network hopes to become a strong bridge between the community of Vietnamese language teachers abroad and in Vietnam.
To acknowledge their learning efforts, the organizers will issue certificates of completion to participants who attend all classes and submit the required assignments.
