At this meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on explaining, accepting and revising 10 draft laws that were discussed and commented on by the National Assembly for the first time at the 7th Session.
Specifically, the drafts are: Law on Geology and Minerals; Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Pharmacy; Law on Trade Unions (amended); Law on Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking (amended); Law on Notarization (amended); Law on Cultural Heritage (amended); Law on Urban and Rural Planning; Law on Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue; Law on Juvenile Justice; Law on Value Added Tax (amended).

In his closing speech, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man highly appreciated the agency in charge of reviewing and the agency in charge of drafting for seriously preparing documents and fully absorbing the opinions of National Assembly deputies discussing at the 7th Session.
“With a high sense of responsibility, the National Assembly Standing Committee has made frank and constructive comments on the explanations, acceptance, and completion of the draft laws,” the National Assembly Chairman stated, and requested that agencies continue to coordinate to complete the draft laws and promptly send documents to the Conference of full-time National Assembly deputies, scheduled to take place from August 28 to 30.
Regarding the contents that have been specifically concluded by the Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly, the Chairman of the National Assembly requested the Secretary General of the National Assembly to coordinate with the Council of Nationalities and the Committees of the National Assembly to promptly issue conclusions without delay.
Informing that, at the upcoming 36th session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will continue to give opinions on explaining, accepting and revising the draft Law on People's Air Defense, and at the same time organize a question and answer session with ministries and branches. The National Assembly Chairman requested the Ethnic Council and the Committees to coordinate with relevant agencies to urgently complete and prepare documents for the session.

Regarding preparations for the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly, on August 8, the Government issued a document proposing to add 6 draft laws, including 5 proposed to be passed according to the process of 1 session, 1 draft resolution, and 3 contents on important issues to the session agenda.
The National Assembly Chairman requested that agencies urgently complete documents and send them to the National Assembly agencies for review. Regarding draft legal documents, the Government needs to complete documents to add to the 2024 Law and Ordinance Development Program. Of the 6 new contents proposed by the Government, 2 draft laws have been added, namely the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army and the Data Law.
“The Nationalities Council and the National Assembly Committees, according to their assigned tasks, closely follow the progress, proactively research, prepare for examination, promptly report to the National Assembly Standing Committee for consideration, and arrange for it to be included in the official agenda of the National Assembly Standing Committee's meeting if conditions are met,” the National Assembly Chairman noted.
Regarding the preparation for the 36th session and the Conference of full-time National Assembly deputies, the National Assembly Chairman requested the National Assembly Secretary General to balance the contents, arrange scientific and quality working time, focus on major issues with different opinions for discussion, and reach a final conclusion.
