Vinmec's 8th hospital in the West of Hanoi has an investment capital of 1,500 billion VND, a scale of nearly 60,000 m2, and gathers many excellent medical doctors.

On October 21, Vingroup Corporation inaugurated and put into operation Vinmec Smart City International General Hospital (Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi), with a total investment of VND 1,500 billion. This is the 8th hospital of the Vinmec Healthcare System, equipped with modern equipment.

Vinmec Smart City Hospital.

According to Mr. Hoang Duc Vinh, Professional Director of Vinmec Smart City Hospital, the hospital has an area of nearly 60,000 square meters, with a capacity to serve at least 70,000 visits/year, including 14 specialties, notably obstetrics and gynecology, surgery with endoscopic and minimally invasive surgical methods to treat digestive diseases, orthopedic trauma, and strong application of 3D technology to personalize treatment.

The hospital will also operate a private Hematology and Cell Therapy Center to help cancer patients access new and effective treatments such as CAR-T, cell therapy, and immunotherapy.

Regarding management, Vinmec Smart City is the first hospital in Vietnam to apply the SystemOne electronic medical record management system. The advantage of SystemOne is that it allows doctors at different medical facilities to share data to consult and provide the best treatment plan for patients, along with the highest level of security measures.

Regarding human resources, Vinmec Smart City gathers a team of excellent, experienced multi-specialty doctors, well-trained from leading medical facilities at home and abroad; constantly updated with knowledge of world medicine such as France, USA, Japan, Singapore...

In particular, Vinmec Smart City is the first hospital in the Vinmec Hospital System to deploy a hospital operation simulation program in accordance with international standards.

According to Mr. Vinh, Vinmec Smart City Hospital not only gathers the most advanced technologies, but also inherits experiences and improvements from the system's achievements in expertise and operations in recent years.

The hospital has a close combination of care - training and research and development, aiming to build a completely new model of international standard hospital, keeping up with the most modern health care trends in the world.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan said that in the context of world healthcare constantly developing and innovating, improving the quality of medical services is one of the top priorities.

Leaders of the Ministry of Health and units pressed the button to open the hospital.

In Vietnam, the combination of public and private healthcare not only helps reduce the burden on the public healthcare system but also opens up diverse and high-quality healthcare options for people.

The Party and State encourage public-private partnership, private investment, and the provision of health care services that meet people's needs.

In particular, the plan has set a target to expand the number of beds in private hospitals, striving for the rate of private hospital beds to account for at least 10% by 2025, 15% by 2030 and 25% by 2050.

Currently, the country has nearly 380 private hospitals, accounting for 24% of the total number of hospitals. However, the number of beds in private hospitals only accounts for nearly 6%. In Hanoi alone, these indicators are higher, with 44 private hospitals (accounting for 29%) and nearly 3,000 beds accounting for 6.5%.

Most private hospitals focus on specialized areas such as eyes, dentistry, dermatology, cardiology, oncology... with less than 50 beds, the number of general hospitals with over 100 beds is very small.

These targets are still far from the targets in the Plan approved by the Prime Minister. Therefore, the health sector needs to further promote the development of private health care.

Therefore, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan said that the operation of Vinmec Smart City International General Hospital will help reduce the burden on public hospitals and encourage patients to use medical examination and treatment services according to international standards right in Vietnam without having to go abroad.

With the addition of an international general hospital in Vinhomes Smart City, Vingroup continues to affirm its position as the leading real estate developer in Vietnam in constantly improving the quality of life for residents, opening up high-class healthcare options for the entire western region of the Capital.
