On October 28th, the Department of Health under the Ministry of Construction held a conference to transfer the management of the Ho Chi Minh City Transport Hospital to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. The receiving party was the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health.
According to a representative from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, when the Ho Chi Minh City Transport Hospital comes under the management of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, it will continue to receive investment to provide more medical examination and treatment facilities for the people.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health will coordinate with the Department of Health under the Ministry of Transport to finalize a plan for the official handover, ensuring that the hospital's operations are not interrupted after it is taken over by the new managing entity.
In addition, the Department of Health under the Ministry of Construction will coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to finalize the plan for the handover and acceptance of areas such as organizational structure, personnel, finance, and other matters related to the unit's operations.
A representative from the Ho Chi Minh City Transport Hospital stated that the hospital currently has 82 staff members, including 31 civil servants and the rest on professional contracts.

The leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Transport Hospital also proposed that the hospital be allowed to become the second facility of the Ho Chi Minh City Rehabilitation and Occupational Disease Treatment Hospital.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the Transport Hospital currently manages and utilizes three facilities. These facilities are located at 72/3 Tran Quoc Toan Street, 72/5 Tran Quoc Toan Street, and 136 Cach Mang Thang Tam Street (formerly District 3).
In 2023, the Department of Health under the Ministry of Transport sent a document to the (former) Ministry of Transport reporting and requesting approval to transfer the hospital to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for management in its current state.
However, Ho Chi Minh City has only agreed to accept the facility at 72/3 Tran Quoc Toan Street; the other two facilities have not yet been accepted.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, the reason for not yet taking over the two Transport Hospital facilities is due to complications related to land occupation. The remaining two facilities are occupied by two households. These families have been living there stably for a long time, so the relevant agencies and units have yet to resolve the issue completely.
