Thus, since the SEA V.League, Bich Tuyen has not returned to the national team. She previously withdrew from the 2025 Women 's World Volleyball Championship at the last minute for personal reasons.
In the second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship, Bich Tuyen also did not play for LPBank Ninh Binh due to injury. The opposite hitter, born in 2000, was registered in the role of a support player, raising doubts about her ability to participate in the SEA Games.
And indeed, these suspicions proved true. In the list announced by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation on October 19th, Bich Tuyen's name was not included. Due to her continuous absence from the national team and her club matches, Bich Tuyen's form was assessed as not being up to par.
Instead, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet chose three players for the opposite hitter position: Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Dang Thi Kim Thanh, and Doan Thi Xuan.
Kieu Trinh may not be as explosive as Bich Tuyen, but she has shown consistency over the years. Kim Thanh just had a successful season, helping VTV Binh Dien Long An win the national championship. Doan Thi Xuan can be considered a backup option, having also played well for XMLS Thanh Hoa.
Some of the young talents given opportunities this time include Pham Quynh Huong, Hoang Hong Hanh, Bui Thi Anh Thao, Nguyen Phuong Quynh, Le Nhu Anh, Le Thuy Linh, and Ha Kieu Vy.
It is understood that during this training camp, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will have a two-month training camp in Quang Ninh to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games. Two athletes, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Tran Thi Bich Thuy, are not included in this list because they are participating in the Japanese National Championship.
However, they will still be able to join the team to attend the SEA Games.
