This is the second consecutive year that the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 has been announced, building on the prestige of global rankings such as the Fortune 500, Fortune Global 500, and Fortune Most Admired Companies.
BIDV ranked 43rd, the highest-ranked bank in the entire Vietnamese banking industry.
This year's ranking selects and evaluates the top 500 businesses from seven Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Cambodia, based on revenue, profit, total assets, and number of employees.
Among the 76 Vietnamese businesses participating, BIDV rose to the 3rd position across all sectors and led the entire domestic banking industry in revenue, exceeding US$6.8 billion (equivalent to over VND 172 trillion). Simultaneously, with this result, BIDV currently ranks 11th among banks in Southeast Asia.
BIDV's inclusion in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 list further affirms its pivotal role in the Vietnamese banking system.
Notably, BIDV is also the Vietnamese enterprise with the largest total assets on the list, reaching over $108 billion, ranking 13th in the entire Southeast Asian region - far surpassing other enterprises in the same industry and consolidating its position as a pillar bank in the Vietnamese banking system.
This recognition by Fortune Southeast Asia 500 further affirms BIDV's pivotal role in the Vietnamese banking system in particular and its stature on the Southeast Asian business map in general.
