With the theme "Promoting the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, cooperation, and determination to fight and prevent violations of illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing", functional agencies and units have officially launched a movement to compete in the fight against IUU fishing with many key contents.

The emulation contents include: Doing a good job of dissemination, education , and propaganda to raise awareness, responsibility, and determination to carry out tasks; stepping up patrolling, controlling, and thoroughly handling IUU violations; enhancing coordination, cooperation, and information exchange between functional forces; and ensuring absolute safety while performing tasks at sea.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Quang Ha, Deputy Political Commissar of the Ca Mau Provincial Border Guard, emphasized: This is an opportunity to encourage and motivate agencies, units, officers and soldiers to unite, be proactive, creative, overcome difficulties, and resolutely fight to prevent violations in fisheries exploitation. The focus is on promptly preventing fishing vessels and fishermen from encroaching on foreign waters and strictly implementing instructions from superiors.

Colonel Pham Minh Giang, Provincial Party Committee member, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Border Guard Command of Ca Mau province signed to confirm the emulation pacts against IUU fishing.

Colonel Nguyen Quang Ha also emphasized the need to promote the combined strength of all levels, sectors, functional forces and local authorities in preparing and serving the European Commission (EC) Inspection Delegation to visit Vietnam for the 5th time in the coming time. Thereby, contributing to the removal of the IUU “yellow card”, effectively implementing the work of protecting, regenerating and sustainably exploiting aquatic resources.

Officers and soldiers of the Border Guard of Ca Mau province propagate to fishermen to strictly comply with the fight against IUU fishing when going out to sea to catch seafood.

At the same time, the emulation movement is also closely linked to the task of managing and protecting the sovereignty , border security and sea of ​​the province, contributing to maintaining security and order at sea.
