The above information was just confirmed by Mr. Ho Van Phuc, Vice Chairman of Phuoc Thanh Commune People's Committee with reporters of Da Nang Newspaper and Radio and Television at noon today, October 27.

According to Mr. Phuc, the rare incident happened at around 5:00 a.m. the same day, in village 2 (Phuoc Thanh commune).

At that time, the truck (license plate unknown) of a small trader QL (residing in Kham Duc commune) was on the way from Phuoc Thanh commune back to Kham Duc, when reaching the slope of village 2, it was suddenly hit by a landslide from the positive slope.

The incident was so sudden and so fast that the driver had no time to react. The truck immediately got stuck in the swamp. Hundreds of cubic meters of dirt and rocks fell down, burying more than half of the truck. Luckily, the driver was able to open the door and escape.

After the incident, local authorities mobilized excavators to the scene to level the rock and soil. However, due to adverse weather conditions, the truck and the scene were still unable to be cleared and rescue assistance was carried out.

* Previously, on the afternoon of October 26, while traveling on Highway 40B, a passenger bus also had an accident while passing through a landslide area in Nam Tra My commune. Local authorities and the Highway 40B management unit had to use a wheel loader to rescue the car from the dangerous area.
