Students compete in "Ring the Golden Bell" to learn about natural disaster prevention and control

DNO - On October 27, the Agricultural Extension Center of Da Nang City (under the Department of Agriculture and Environment) coordinated with the People's Committee of Thanh Khe Ward to organize the "Golden Bell" contest to promote knowledge and disseminate laws on natural disaster prevention and control, and climate change adaptation for students of Nguyen Duy Hieu Secondary School (Thanh Khe Ward).

The competition is open to students from grades 6 to 9, contributing to the successful implementation of the Project on Enhancing Community Awareness and Community-Based Disaster Risk Management for the period 2021-2025 of the Da Nang City People's Committee.

The content mainly relates to knowledge about the types of natural disasters occurring in Da Nang city, such as: saltwater intrusion, heatwaves, storms, heavy rains, floods, flash floods, inundation, and localized flooding…

At the same time, it provides guidance on skills and experience in preventing and responding to natural disasters; solutions to mitigate the intensity of climate change and natural disaster risks…

Reportedly, over the past month, the competition has been held at 9 junior high schools in Thanh Khe ward, including Hoang Dieu, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Do Dang Tuyen, Le Thi Hong Gam, Nguyen Trai, Huynh Thuc Khang, Chu Van An, Nguyen Duy Hieu, and Phan Dinh Phung junior high schools, with the participation of 900 students selected from grades 6 to 9 of each school.
