Da Nang City People's Committee requests to focus on responding to and overcoming consequences caused by floods, landslides

Forecasting that the rain and flood situation will continue to be very complicated in the coming days, the City People's Committee requests armed forces units, departments, branches, People's Committees of communes, wards, special zones and related units to organize on-duty shifts, closely monitor forecasts, warnings of natural disasters, rain and flood situations; promptly inform people about natural disasters to proactively respond; deploy plans to prevent and combat natural disasters; continue to implement and ensure the contents according to the direction of the Chairman of the City People's Committee in Official Dispatch No. 07/CD-UBND dated October 17, 2025 on proactively responding to natural disasters in the next 10 days and weather trends from now until the end of 2025 and Official Dispatch No. 08/CD-UBND dated October 21, 2025 on proactively responding to very heavy rain and storm No. 12.

Report on response work and damage caused by natural disasters to the Da Nang City Civil Defense Command (through the City Military Command - standing agency), the Department of Agriculture and Environment (advisory agency on natural disaster prevention work) before 6:00 and 15:00 every day to promptly synthesize and report to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the City People's Committee and the Central agencies.

Chairmen of People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones continue to maintain and deploy activities to respond to heavy rains, floods, flash floods, landslides... Proactively inspect and review unsafe areas, especially deeply flooded and isolated areas, low-lying areas along rivers and streams, areas at risk of flash floods and landslides; arrange forces to guard and block off, strictly prohibit people and vehicles from traveling on deeply flooded roads, fast-flowing, underground, overflowing roads, on rivers, streams, reservoirs, areas at high risk of landslides and flash floods.

Continue to maintain and strengthen people's evacuation activities to ensure safety, especially in dangerous areas, ensuring food for people in flooded and landslide-affected areas and at evacuation sites; do not let people suffer from hunger, cold, rain, etc.

The Department of Construction shall preside over and coordinate with the military and local forces to immediately handle traffic routes that have been damaged by landslides and are impassable; install warning signs and barriers on landslide-affected roads. Research and propose long-term, appropriate and sustainable solutions. The Department of Agriculture and Environment shall coordinate with the People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones to urgently identify landslide points and landslide risks that may affect people's housing. Advise on immediate and long-term solutions, focusing on proposing resettlement projects for disaster areas to be included in the medium-term plan for the period 2026-2030.

The Department of Education and Training, People's Committees of communes and wards shall proactively decide to let students stay home from school depending on the actual situation of floods and the characteristics of each locality (especially localities at risk of landslides). The Department of Finance shall preside over, advise and propose to the City People's Committee on funding sources for departments, branches and localities to overcome the damage caused by natural disasters.

The City Military Command presides over and coordinates with the City Police, the City Border Guard Command and relevant units to deploy forces to support localities in responding to and overcoming consequences caused by natural disasters.
