On April 9th, the Command of Region 3, in coordination with the Vinh Linh District Labor Union, Quang Tri Province, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a charitable house for the family of Ms. Duong Thi Nguyen. Colonel Nguyen Quang Vinh, Deputy Head of Political Affairs of Region 3, presided over the ceremony .

Ms. Duong Thi Nguyen is 71 years old this year, residing in Vinh Long commune, Vinh Linh district. Ms. Nguyen is the daughter of martyr Duong Ngoc Ly; her husband is a 4/4 class disabled soldier (deceased). Currently, Ms. Nguyen lives with her son in a dilapidated, leaky level 4 house. The family's circumstances are extremely difficult, with no conditions to repair or rebuild.
Awarding decision to support funding for building charity houses
The house, built with a total area of over 60 square meters and a concrete roof, was supported by the Command of Region 3 with 80 million VND, drawn from the Navy's "Gratitude and Repayment" Fund.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Quang Vinh emphasized: This is a practical activity, demonstrating the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" of our nation and at the same time the responsibility and affection of Navy officers and soldiers towards families with meritorious services to the revolution, families with preferential policies and those in difficulty.
