According to TRT World TV channel, this Alliance has the participation of 41 countries, with a commitment to help 500 million people escape poverty through cash transfer programs and social protection.
The aim of this initiative is to bring together developed countries, non- governmental organizations and financial institutions to mobilize finance and expertise to support countries in need.
The alliance is expected to help eradicate hunger in all countries on the Food and Agriculture Organization's (FAO) hunger map by 2030.
At a press conference on November 14, Brazilian Social Development Minister Wellington Dias said that in the coming months, the initiative is expected to attract 100 countries. So far, more than 50 countries are preparing plans to participate.
“Participating countries will need to present plans with proven effective projects that have the potential to reduce poverty in a practical way,” Mr. Dias stressed.
Key initiatives of the alliance include expanding cash transfer programs to support 500 million people, providing meals to 150 million children in schools, and supporting 200 million children under 6 and pregnant women through health programs.
Several countries such as Brazil, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Chile, Indonesia and the Dominican Republic have presented their plans under this initiative.
Donor countries include Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Norway, Spain, the European Union (EU), along with international organizations such as the World Bank (WB), FAO and the World Food Programme (WFP).
