Quang Ngai transforms on the journey of sustainable poverty reduction

Quang Ngai is striving to realize the goal of sustainable poverty reduction through the emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind" in the period of 2021-2025. The province is synchronously implementing solutions: diversifying livelihoods, developing vocational education and communicating on multidimensional poverty reduction, to improve people's self-reliance.

In the 2021-2025 period, the province will implement 300 poverty reduction models and production development projects linked to production development planning and climate change adaptation in each locality, with 12,176 poor households, near-poor households, newly escaped poverty households, and disadvantaged households participating. Most localities will implement poverty reduction model projects to support community production development. The projects and models are linked to production development planning and climate change adaptation; mainly focusing on implementing the "breeding cow breeding" model suitable to the climate and terrain characteristics in rural areas and the ability of poor and near-poor households to participate.

The multidimensional poverty rate of the whole Quang Ngai province by the end of 2024 is 7.93%, equivalent to 42,568 poor households. According to the plan by the end of 2025, the poverty rate in Quang Ngai province will decrease from 4.27% to 1.86%, estimated to achieve the target in 2025 compared to the plan.
