On the occasion of the Buddha's Birthday - Buddhist calendar 2567, Gregorian calendar 2023, on May 30th, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, agencies, localities and units visited, presented gifts, and offered congratulations to religious dignitaries, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers in the province.

* In Vu Thu district

Comrade Dang Thanh Giang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, visited, presented gifts, and offered congratulations to religious dignitaries, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers in Vu Thu district. The delegation visited and congratulated Venerable Thich Minh Thanh, Deputy Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) of the province, Head of the Executive Board of the VBS of Vu Thu district, and abbess of Khanh Son Pagoda (Vu Vinh commune); and Nun Thich Dam Hoa, Member of the Executive Board of the VBS of the province, Deputy Head of the Executive Board of the VBS of Vu Thu district, and abbess of Kieu Pagoda (Song An commune).

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council extended his best wishes to the religious leaders, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers for a peaceful, harmonious, and happy celebration. He highly appreciated the contributions of the religious leaders, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers to the socio- economic development of the locality; and expressed his hope that religious activities would continue to develop in accordance with the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws, thereby building an increasingly strong national unity.

On behalf of the religious leaders, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers, the abbots expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the multifaceted attention from the Party committees, government, Fatherland Front, departments, and organizations over the past period; affirming that they will continue to take good care of religious activities, encourage monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers to uphold the tradition of unity, work hard in labor and production to join the local people in building an increasingly strong national unity, promoting the patriotic emulation movement, and building a more prosperous, beautiful, and civilized homeland.

* In Thai Thuy district

Provincial leaders visited and congratulated Venerable Thich Thanh Ngoc, Standing Member of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the province, Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Thai Thuy district, and abbot of Phuong Man Pagoda in Hong Dung commune; and Venerable Thich Thanh Khoi, Member of the Council of Buddhist Elders in the province, and abbot of Phuc Lam Pagoda in Thai Phuc commune.

During their visits, the provincial leaders extended their greetings and best wishes to the exemplary religious leaders and all monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers for a joyful Vesak season. They also expressed their hope that the religious leaders and temples would continue to uphold the tradition of "close ties and companionship with the nation," working together with all levels of government to further promote and encourage monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers to abide by the Party's policies and the State's laws, actively participate in emulation movements, build a strong national unity, and promote the province's socio-economic development.

On behalf of the monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers, representatives from the two temples expressed gratitude for the attention from the province and local authorities, and affirmed their commitment to continuing to uphold the fine traditions of Buddhism and contribute to the development of the locality.

* In Tien Hai district

The leaders acknowledged and highly appreciated the important contributions and support of religious dignitaries, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers in Tien Hai district to the local Party committee and government in implementing socio-economic development tasks.

The provincial leaders hope that Buddhist dignitaries in Tien Hai district will continue to set a good example, propagate and encourage monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers to strictly abide by the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws; promote "Buddhism accompanying the nation," build a strong national unity, live virtuous lives, and make practical and effective contributions to the socio-economic development of the province.

* In Quynh Phu District

The Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department and members of the delegation cordially inquired about the health of, presented gifts to, and congratulated Venerable Thich Thanh Nghia and Venerable Thich Thanh Man, along with other monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers, on a joyful Vesak season.

The Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of religious leaders, monks, and Buddhist followers to the local movement in the past, helping to make Quynh Phu district a leading district in the province in many fields; at the same time, he requested that, with their roles and prestige, religious leaders and monks continue to uphold the spirit of exemplary conduct, propagate and mobilize Buddhist followers to actively participate in production, enthusiastically respond to campaigns and emulation movements to contribute to building a more civilized, prosperous and beautiful homeland.

At each location visited, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department and the Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee inquired about the health and well-being of the abbots of the temples, acknowledging and commending the contributions of the religious leaders, monks, and Buddhists to the socio-economic development of the locality, especially in social welfare and humanitarian activities. They expressed their hope that the religious leaders, monks, and Buddhists would effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, and local regulations; strive in labor and production; actively participate in movements and campaigns, especially the "National Unity for Building New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas" campaign; and contribute to the development of their homeland.

Venerable Thich Thanh Dien and Nun Thich Dam Tuyen expressed their gratitude for the attention of the Party committees and authorities at all levels, and promised to continue propagating and mobilizing Buddhists to actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, strictly abide by the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, and work together with the Party committees, authorities and people to build advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas.

The Director of the Provincial Public Security Department acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions and support of religious leaders, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers to the socio-economic development, the building of national unity, especially in social welfare and poverty reduction efforts in the locality.

The comrade expressed his hope that in the coming time, religious leaders and monks and nuns would continue to do well in Buddhist affairs, actively propagating and mobilizing Buddhist followers to participate in patriotic emulation movements according to the motto "good life, beautiful religion".
