Items that candidates are allowed to bring into the 2023 high school graduation exam room.

The 2023 high school graduation exam will officially take place from June 28-29. Candidates should note the items that are allowed and not allowed in the examination room.

In 2023, the Ministry of Education and Training revised and supplemented several articles of the Regulations on the High School Graduation Examination. Accordingly, the 2023 regulations on the high school graduation examination included changes to the list of items allowed in the examination room.

Candidates are only allowed to bring the following into the examination room: pens, pencils, compasses, erasers, rulers, calculators; pocket calculators without text editing functions or memory cards; and the Atlas of Vietnamese Geography for the Geography exam.

This year, the Ministry of Education and Training did not specify a list of pocket calculators as in previous years, but only required calculators "without word processing functions".

According to the 2023 high school graduation exam regulations, candidates are not allowed to bring recording devices that only record information but cannot play back or view the recordings, and cannot transmit or receive audio or video signals directly without other supporting equipment.

At the same time, the following items are not allowed in the examination room: carbon paper, correction fluid, documents, telephones, communication devices or devices containing information that could be used to cheat during the exam, smart watches, weapons, explosives, flammable substances, and alcoholic beverages.

Any violation of the regulations will result in suspension from the exam. Suspended candidates must submit their exam papers, question papers, and scratch paper to the invigilator and leave the examination room immediately after the decision is made.

The 2023 High School Graduation Examination had a total of 1,024,063 registered candidates. Of these, 37,841 were independent candidates, accounting for 3.69% of the total; 47,769 were candidates only seeking graduation, accounting for 4.66% of the total; and 34,155 were candidates only seeking university admission, accounting for 3.33% of the total.

In addition, please note the exam schedule: on June 27th, candidates will complete the procedures for the 2023 high school graduation exam. On June 28th, candidates will finish the Mathematics and Literature exams. Candidates will choose one of two combined subject exams, either Natural Sciences or Social Sciences, to conclude the exam period on June 29th.
