On August 15, Mr. Luong Van Bay - Chairman of My Ly Commune People's Committee said that Cha Nga village is still isolated and food supplies are still being maintained regularly by the locality.

“For the past two days (from August 14-15), the commune organized a group of 15 people, including the militia, Border Guard, and My Ly Forest Protection Station, to carry 500 kg of rice to the people of Cha Nga village. The journey was very difficult because the road had completely collapsed, the soldiers had to carry heavy loads and walk all day to get there,” said Mr. Luong Van Bay.
Providing more information about this activity, Lieutenant Colonel Phan Duc Tam - Political Commissar of My Ly Border Guard Station informed that the unit and local authorities have always closely monitored and grasped the living conditions of the people of Cha Nga village and have provided timely support and supplies since the flood. In recent days, with information that the people were running out of food, the forces organized a working group to provide supplies for 2 days, August 14-15.

Because it was not possible to go by car, and only some sections could be traveled by motorbike, the group transported 2 tons of rice by motorbike from the commune center to the gathering point in the fields of Xieng Tren village. From this gathering point, the group continued to walk carrying rice to the second gathering point in Xop Duong village. From Xop Duong village, because the road had collapsed into the river, they had to follow the cliffs and rocky crevices to carry the rice on foot. If the weather was favorable, it would take about 3-5 hours to reach Cha Nga village.

The working group had to walk along slippery cliffs and carry heavy loads in the hot weather, so they could not go fast. Transporting by small boat was also difficult because it could not carry much and was potentially dangerous when the river was flowing rapidly and there were many trees and rocks submerged at the bottom.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of My Ly commune also added that currently the commune still has 5 isolated villages, accessible only by boat and on foot.
Immediately after the flood receded, the Party Committee and government leaders directed the implementation of the "4 on-site" motto, established working groups to inspect and encourage people in affected villages. All levels, sectors and forces also mobilized resources to support people in overcoming the situation, providing essential necessities such as rice, instant noodles, fish sauce, salt, drinking water, and arranging temporary accommodation for people. In addition, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, agencies, units, sponsors and philanthropists also supported food, necessities and financial support for the people. The health sector sent doctors and nurses to set up field clinics to examine and give medicine to people.

Up to now, in addition to the local forces and My Ly Border Guard Station that regularly stay close to the base, the commune has also been assisted by 55 officers and soldiers of the Mobile Police; 50 officers of the Provincial Forest Protection Department; 55 officers of the Provincial Police ; 110 officers of the Provincial Military Command; 150 officers of Division 234 who have spent many days helping people dig up mud and soil, clean up houses, collect belongings, and build temporary houses to soon stabilize their lives.
