Crossing mountains and lakes to bring electricity to the village
Canh Tien is a small village located deep in Nui Mot Lake and high mountain forests, about 70 km from Quy Nhon City. Canh Tien Village currently has 188 households, with 538 people, mainly Ba Na and Cham ethnic people living. The village seems isolated from the outside world .
To reach the village, one must take a boat across the lake for more than 10 km, or trek through the forest and over Nha Sam Pass for more than 3 hours. The remote and isolated roads make it impossible for Canh Tien village to develop its economy and tourism. The people live mainly on animal husbandry and farming. For many years, the people here have always longed for electricity to be brought to the village to improve their lives.
Based on the policy of the Provincial People's Committee, officers and employees of EVNCPC and PC Binh Dinh have made efforts to cross forests and lakes to implement the project of supplying electricity to the national grid for Canh Tien village. On December 17, 2024, the project of supplying electricity to Canh Tien village was started. The total investment is 11 billion VND, with PC Binh Dinh as the investor. The scale of construction volume includes 12.9 km of 22 kV medium voltage line, 2.2 km of 0.23 kV low voltage line, 3 new transformer stations with a total capacity of 137.5 kVA; installing 100% of remote electronic meters for households.
Mr. Thai Minh Chau, Director of PC Binh Dinh, said that during the implementation process, the project encountered many difficulties: rugged terrain, muddy material transportation roads, dense acacia forests, and lengthy site clearance procedures. Many locations had no roads, so the unit had to open roads on the mountains for construction and pole erection. However, with the highest political determination, all obstacles were gradually removed. After more than 4 months of rapid construction, on April 26, 2025, the project was officially energized and put into operation, 4 months ahead of schedule.
In particular, along with bringing electricity to the village, PC Binh Dinh has provided free electricity lines after the meter to the house and donated indoor lighting systems to 188 households in Canh Tien village.

Electricity lights up a bright future for our people.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, thanked EVNCPC and PC Binh Dinh for their efforts to overcome many difficulties and focus resources on bringing electricity to Canh Tien village on schedule. Accordingly, up to now, 100% of households in the province have had electricity.
Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that Canh Tien used to be the province's revolutionary base during the war. Bringing electricity to Canh Tien village is an important event, showing gratitude to the people and those who contributed to the revolution. At the same time, this is a turning point in improving the quality of life for the villagers, especially in the fields of economy, health, education, information, etc. From here, it will create conditions for the villagers to develop production, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction, building new rural areas; ensuring political security and stability in the area, strengthening the great national unity bloc.
In Canh Tien village, before, people only used solar power systems for lighting, the energy source was very limited, the light was flickering. When the national grid electricity came to the village, people happily bought more electrical equipment for their homes. Unable to hide their joy on the inauguration day of the project, people of Canh Tien village were moved to express their deep gratitude to the Party, the State, the electricity industry and the local government.
"The villagers' long-standing wish has come true. Electricity has come to the village. From today, people will have a better life. Our children will be able to study under the bright light of electricity!", said Mr. Dinh Van Tao, Party Cell Secretary and Head of Canh Tien village.
Mr. Ngo Tan Cu, General Director of EVNCPC, said that the project to supply electricity to Canh Tien village is a clear demonstration of the determination of the electricity sector in realizing the goal of lighting up "depressed areas". For us, this is not only a professional task but also a mission for the community. To date, 100% of households in Binh Dinh province have access to electricity.
"In the coming time, EVNCPC and PC Binh Dinh will continue to accompany people in the process of using electricity economically, safely and effectively. We are committed to ensuring stable operation and regularly checking the power system so that people can feel secure in their daily lives and develop the economy."
