Update forest developments to improve forest management and protection efficiency

Since the beginning of 2025, the Quang Nam Provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund has built real-time remote sensing image sources, delineated areas with forest changes within the scope of forest environmental service provision (FES) and organized a coordination and support work session to update forest developments (phase 1).

During this working session, the Quang Nam Provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund coordinated with the Forest Protection Department and the District Forest Protection Department to work directly with forest owners, the People's Committees of communes assigned to manage forests for payment of forest environmental services, and village communities receiving payment of forest environmental services (collectively referred to as forest owners) to support the work of updating forest developments according to recommended data.

Quang Nam Provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund coordinates with relevant units to support the work of updating forest developments according to recommended data for forest owners.

The results of the first phase are the basis for forest owners to conduct field inspections and prepare forest development reports according to regulations. At the same time, during the working session, they discussed and grasped the situation of forest protection and the implementation of the policy on payment for forest environmental services at the grassroots level.

At the working sessions with forest owners, the Quang Nam Provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund recorded and resolved problems, especially providing technical support to forest owners in using digital maps to improve forest protection efficiency.

The results of the coordination and support work to update forest developments (phase 1) are the basis for the Quang Nam Provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund to promptly determine the area of ​​forest environmental service payment in 2025, which is the basis for timely advance payment of forest environmental service to forest owners.
