Cau Giay: Nearly 2,000 athletes compete in 10 events

The event is a great festival for all people, demonstrating the spirit of "Healthy to build and protect the Fatherland", encouraging the movement of physical training, contributing to building a healthy and dynamic cultural life in the community.

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee, Head of the Congress Organizing Committee emphasized: "The first Cau Giay Ward Sports Congress is an opportunity for cadres, civil servants, workers, students and people of the whole ward to exchange, learn, promote the spirit of solidarity, and spread the movement 'All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho'".

This congress gathered nearly 2,000 athletes from residential groups, schools, agencies and units in the area, competing in 10 sports including: football, table tennis, badminton, shuttlecock, basketball, volleyball, pickleball, chess, Chinese chess and tug of war, with a total of 80 sets of medals awarded.

During the ceremony, the marching groups demonstrated their strength, carried torches and lit the traditional fire, creating a bustling and exciting atmosphere. The festival took place enthusiastically with gymnastics performances, drums, flag dancing, children's performances and attractive competitions, attracting a large crowd of cheering people.

As a result, in shuttlecock kicking, athletes Le Hoang An (Dich Vong Hau Secondary School), Nguyen Ha Anh (Dich Vong A Primary School), Dinh Le Minh Son - Nguyen Minh Cao Nguyen (Dich Vong A Primary School) all won Gold Medals. In chess, contestants Nguyen Dong Khang (Dich Vong A Primary School) and Pham Ha My (Alaska International Primary School) led the youth group. Meanwhile, Truong Cong Giai Secondary School won the championship in boys' basketball and soccer for the secondary school, while Dich Vong Secondary School led in the boys' and girls' tug of war events.

Vice Chairwoman of the Ward People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Ha affirmed: "The success of the Congress is not only measured by the number of medals, but more importantly, the spread of sportsmanship , solidarity and health in each citizen". From the results of the Congress, Cau Giay Ward will select typical athletes to represent the locality to participate in the 11th Hanoi City Sports Festival, scheduled to be held in November - December 2025.
