The Royal Bridge worth nearly 2,000 billion VND is taking shape in Hai Phong.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - With a total investment of nearly 2,000 billion VND, the Hoang Gia Bridge (also known as May Chai Bridge) spanning the Cam River in Hai Phong City is being accelerated and is expected to be completed in August 2025.
Built in May Chai ward, Ngo Quyen district and Thuy Nguyen commune, Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city, the Hoang Gia bridge spans the Cam River - an important waterway facilitating the transport of goods and passengers to and from Hai Phong. The Royal Bridge has a total length of nearly 2.2km, with the main bridge being 21m wide and having 4 lanes of traffic, and the approach bridges on both sides being 17.5m wide. The bridge's starting point is on Vu Yen Island, and its end point intersects with Le Thanh Tong Street at Cau Tre Bridge, located in May Chai Ward, Ngo Quyen District, Hai Phong. To date, the substructure of the main cable-stayed bridge and approach bridge on Vu Yen Island has been completed. Observations at the Royal Bridge construction site show that workers are working at high intensity to meet the deadline. To construct the Royal Bridge, the contractor has mobilized a large number of personnel and equipment. The various components of the project are being completed urgently. Workers are currently constructing the railings for the access road to the bridge on the Vu Yen Island side. The main bridge piers on Vu Yen Island are being urgently completed to form a connecting archway. Each bridge tower has a unique shape, inspired by the image of a bird's wings, representing the aspiration to soar high and achieve success. Additionally, the V-shaped wings symbolize Vietnam and Victory. The sturdy reinforced concrete pillars of the approach road to the bridge at the Vu Yen island end. The access road system to the Royal Bridge in May Chai ward, Ngo Quyen district, Hai Phong, is also being urgently constructed. After the Royal Bridge opens to traffic, people will only need 10 minutes to travel from the center of Hai Phong city to Vu Yen island. The appearance of this billion-dollar bridge will contribute to creating a new look for Ngo Quyen district and the smart city associated with the new political and administrative center - Thuy Nguyen city in the future, as well as creating a highlight for infrastructure development and promoting socio-economic development of the port city in general.
