£42 million player is about to leave MU

MU implemented the "iron fist" principle, thereby forcing Manuel Ugarte to leave Old Trafford in the next transfer window.

Ugarte has no future at MU.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been working on a number of reforms at Old Trafford over the past few years. Notably, he brought in Omar Berrada from Man City as CEO. And now, one of Berrada's most important rules is about to be implemented. Any signing who fails to show their value within two years will be kicked out of the club.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano asserted that the new leadership will not accept stagnation and will put a complete end to the practice of pampering underperforming players. This has been the weakness of the "Red Devils" for many years.

The next victim is Manuel Ugarte. The Uruguayan midfielder's future is increasingly bleak as United plan to overhaul their midfield. Ugarte joined United from PSG in August 2024 for more than £42 million, but has failed to establish himself as a starter under Amorim.

Up to now, Ugarte has 55 appearances and scored 2 goals, but that is not enough to convince the new CEO. The next destination of the 24-year-old player has not been revealed, but one thing is for sure: he is not in MU's plans.

The sudden revival of Casemiro and the move of Bruno Fernandes to play deeper has made Ugarte's chances of playing increasingly narrow. Ugarte's situation has become more difficult as MU plans to overhaul the midfield. Targets include Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba and Joao Gomes.
