Mr. Ho Van Nen in Tak Rang village (village 2, Tra Tap commune) is a revolutionary and former Secretary of Tra Cang commune (old). At the age of over 80, suffering from a stroke and having to stay in one place, Mr. Nen's life is somewhat difficult.
Knowing his situation, for many years the local government, party cell, and village people's committee have always visited and encouraged him... so despite his old age and illness, he is still taken good care of by his family and community.
Ms. Ho Thi Thu Thien (Mr. Nen's daughter) said: "Every year, the commune leaders visit my father and his family. Even though our house is far away and we have to walk up the hill at the end of the village, the officials still come to visit us and ask about our health and encourage us, so we are very grateful to the Party and the State."
Tak Rang village currently has 5 policy households, including two war invalids who are now over 80 years old. Every Tet holiday, or the annual War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27, the elderly people habitually sit on the doorstep, smiling happily when the commune and district (old) officials visit.

Mr. Dinh Van Hung, Secretary of the Party Cell of Village 2 (Tra Tap Commune) said: "Policy families in the village enjoy full monthly policies. In addition, the Party and State pay attention to investing in infrastructure and eliminating temporary houses, thanks to which the material and spiritual life of households is basically stable."
Tra Tap commune currently has 21 policy households, including 14 war invalids and 7 meritorious people. In recent years, in addition to taking good care of the regime and encouraging the households, the locality has also actively implemented practical activities such as building gratitude houses, collecting martyrs' remains, mobilizing the "Repaying gratitude" fund... to improve the material and spiritual quality of life of policy families.
Ms. Pham Thi My Hanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Tra Tap Commune Party Committee, said that on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the commune leaders assigned working groups to visit each household. With the participation of the entire political system, the care for people with meritorious services was given attention and implemented promptly.
"Tra Tap commune people have a tradition of passionate patriotism. This can also be said to be the cradle of the Quang Nam revolution during the resistance war against the US. Therefore, we pay special attention to taking care of families with meritorious services, demonstrating the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source"; at the same time, it is also a way to educate the younger generation about the spirit of loving the homeland and country," said Ms. Hanh.
