After nearly three years of disappearing from the stage due to family controversies, singer Hong Phuong – the niece of the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh – recently shared some noteworthy insights about her journey through the crisis.
Looking back on her 10-year career, the female artist admits she has experienced all the ups and downs of singing, both glory and disappointment. However, she says the past three years have been the most challenging period.

Drawing from personal family stories, Hong Phuong faced a wave of fierce backlash from a segment of the audience.
She recounted, "Since those unfortunate events, my artistic activities have been virtually frozen. The programs I participated in were all attacked, and the television stations and show organizers also faced pressure whenever I appeared."
Her career stalled, and her image was misinterpreted negatively, causing her to miss many opportunities. But for Hong Phuong, the material losses were not as great as the emotional pain she had to endure.
"Artists desperately need beauty and inspiration. The loss of youth, image, and honor over the past three years is immeasurable," she said, her voice choked with emotion.

During her time away from the stage, Hong Phuong often filmed her own music videos and uploaded them to her personal YouTube channel, trying to maintain interaction with her audience.
During the period when Hong Phuong was facing the most severe criticism, many thought she would quit her profession, but the singer affirmed that she never had such a thought. What kept her going was her faith in the performing arts and her promise to her uncle - the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh - that "she must live and work seriously in her profession."
To make ends meet, the singer opened a small eatery. This business helped her and her family cover their living expenses and improve their financial situation .
"I think this is destiny, so the family will continue the business to stabilize our finances, while simultaneously preserving traditional art," she confided.
Returning after 3 years, Hong Phuong revealed she will be holding a concert featuring artists Hong Nhung, Tieu Linh, singers Luu Anh Loan, Hoang Dang Khoa, Huynh That, and others...
In the context of a difficult economic situation, Hong Phuong considers organizing a concert a risky undertaking for herself. She added: "I understand the risks and am very worried because shows are decreasing and audiences are sparse. But this comeback is a milestone of honor for me."

Vu Linh's granddaughter decided to "go big," not for profit, but to rediscover herself after years of turmoil.
"I will do my best, regardless of profit or loss. I only care about having another memory in my life. This is my motivation, my gift, and also my answer to my late uncle," the singer said.
The concert "Gratitude to Life, Gratitude to People" will take place in January 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City. For her, the concert not only marks the 10th anniversary of her participation in the "Star Succession" program, but also serves as a personal account of an artist who has overcome the darkest days to continue standing under the spotlight.
