Focus on forest development

Along with forest protection and wildlife management, the unit also pays attention to forest development. Forest rangers from the province to the district have done a good job of advising the local People's Committee to effectively implement the policy of socializing forest protection and development. Since 2008, the trend of planting large, long-lived trees with high economic value such as star and oil has been more focused.

Specifically, the department has organized the planting of nearly 28 hectares of oil forest in An Lap commune (Dau Tieng district), 64.24 hectares of oil trees in Go So area of Sub-region 23 (Bac Tan Uyen district), contributing to gradually greening bare hills, creating a source of raw materials for production units in the province. Up to now, the area of planted forests that have been well cared for and developed has contributed to increasing the coverage rate to 57.5%. In addition, every year, the department coordinates with localities to organize the Tet tree planting movement to forever remember Uncle Ho and plant scattered trees, on average each year organizing the planting of an average of 38.60 hectares of star apple and oil.

Mr. Nguyen Van O, Head of the Provincial Forest Protection Department, said that although the locality has a small forest area, there are over 819 enterprises and establishments processing forest products and nearly 70 establishments raising wild animals, and management work also faces many difficulties. With the timely direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Forest Protection Department, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the support and good coordination between the department and the sectors and People's Committees of localities with forests in propaganda and mobilization work, violations in the field of forest protection and management are mostly small-scale, mainly violations of regulations on forest product processing and raising activities. In recent years, the province has not allowed deforestation to occur, and there are no hot spots for illegal trading and transportation of forest products.

Discipline in the field of forest management and protection is maintained, the department strictly manages and supervises the activities of sawing, processing, exporting and importing forest products in the province, promotes the planting of trees, protective forests and promotes forest protection and protection. In addition, the department regularly conducts inspections, handles them promptly and in accordance with the law, has brought into play the educational and deterrent effects, thereby significantly limiting the level of damage to forest resources.

Mr. Ho Truc Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development: The Forestry Sub-Department needs to continue to improve and consolidate the organization and apparatus of the forestry sector, especially focusing on promoting the application of information technology and digital transformation. Along with that, the Sub-Department advises the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Provincial People's Committee on strengthening measures to prevent drought, salinity and forest fires. At the same time, the forest rangers need to continue to improve their professional qualifications and skills in order to have a positive change in their viewpoints and awareness in forest management and protection, and to complete their assigned tasks.
