TPO - A 22-meter-tall Christmas tree, constructed from a steel frame and thousands of bamboo and rattan poles, is a product to welcome Christmas 2024 by the parishioners of Dong Yen (part of Yen Dai parish, Nghi Phu ward, Vinh city, Nghe An province).
The Christmas tree, a key highlight in this year's Christmas celebrations by the parishioners of Dong Yen, is made from 1,400 bamboo and reed stalks. |
According to Mr. Ho Ngoc Van, Head of the Parish Council of Dong Yen, the materials are sourced from mountainous regions, then washed, cut into sections, and meticulously assembled using flexible steel wire to create the shape of a Christmas tree. |
| “The Christmas tree is designed with three tiers, standing 22 meters tall, with the base having a diameter of 8 meters. To create this unique tree, more than 30 people worked every day for nearly a month. People can walk around the top of the tree to observe the area below and around it,” Mr. Van shared. |
The path leading up and down the pine tree is 2 meters wide and paved with very sturdy bamboo planks. |
The Nativity scene, where the infant Jesus was born. The Nativity scene is skillfully woven and constructed from many bamboo poles and bamboo panels. |
