Before the semi-final match against Indonesia, coach Mai Duc Chung said: "What we need most is team spirit. The Indonesian team is improving very quickly. We met them in the Asian Cup qualifiers and won convincingly, but now we see that they have improved a lot, are playing well, and have reached the semi-finals. Tomorrow, we have high expectations for the Indonesian team."
Nevertheless, the head coach of the Vietnamese women's football team affirmed that she had made a promise to the fans before the SEA Games, who have always supported the women's football team.
