In recent years, enterprises in Dong Nai province have been making efforts to proactively build up raw material sources for production. At the same time, there is the problem of upgrading products and international cooperation so that goods meet high world standards.
Proactive about raw materials
Trong Duc Cocoa Company Limited (Phu Hoa Commune) is one of the large-scale units specializing in the production and supply of cocoa products in Vietnam. This enterprise aims to develop production in the form of deep processing of cocoa products. The company's cocoa products are quite diverse such as: cocoa wine, chocolate, cocoa powder..., which are expanded to many channels of consumption and product promotion. The enterprise also cooperates with partners from Japan to produce high-quality products for export to the Japanese and international markets.
According to Mr. Dang Tuong Khanh, Director of Trong Duc Cocoa Company Limited, for many years the company has made efforts to build a large cocoa raw material supply source in Dong Nai localities with hundreds of hectares to be self-sufficient in raw materials. In addition to taking care of the local raw material area, in recent years the company has expanded its investment in raw material areas in Gia Lai province and has initially achieved important results.
When enterprises are self-sufficient in raw materials and can produce finished products or provide products to serve the input of other units, production and business efficiency will be improved.
According to Mr. Khanh, cocoa prices have increased in recent years, attracting great attention from stakeholders. For the company, expanding raw material areas is closely linked to a long-term, sustainable development strategy, not following market prices. The company will continue to strive to have quality raw material areas, proactively producing and trading, and meeting customer needs.
Similarly, in recent years, Domilk Joint Stock Company (factory in Long Thanh commune) has been actively investing in products with local positioning. In addition to its branded cakes and milk candies that are currently consumed nationwide, Domilk is promoting innovation, prioritizing research and development of products combining local specialties such as mangosteen, Tan Trieu grapefruit, Tan Lap peanuts, etc. Domilk has also cooperated to print typical images of the land, people and economy of Dong Nai on each of its products.
In the long-term plan, Domilk aims to become a large-scale local food production enterprise, so it is focusing on building a raw milk area for processing. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thanh, Director of Domilk Joint Stock Company, the enterprise is surveying and planning to cooperate with farmers and local people in Xuan Phu commune to create this area as a place to supply quality cow's milk for the enterprise. When the supply of households decreases, the supply from other large domestic dairy cow areas is scarce, local self-sufficiency in raw materials is very important.
Striving to meet world standards
With Dong Nai Rubber Corporation, the largest unit in the rubber industry, the corporation has deployed a series of modern technical and technological solutions in production; applied science and technology in care, exploitation and processing. In addition to Dong Nai, the unit also invests and develops rubber in Lam Dong province and Laos and Cambodia. Currently, the unit has 39.1 thousand hectares of raw material area; 10 rubber plantations, 3 processing factories with a total capacity of 49 thousand tons/year; 7 subsidiaries operating in fields from planting, processing rubber, processing wood to investing in industrial park infrastructure.

According to Mr. Do Minh Tuan, General Director of Dong Nai Rubber Corporation (headquartered in Xuan Lap ward), in addition to proactively sourcing raw materials for production, the corporation focuses on deep processing, developing refined products and products with high added value to meet market demand. Continuously researching and developing new products, gradually mastering the global value chain and building and strongly promoting the DONARUCO brand in the international market.
Mr. Vo Quang Ha, Vice President of Dong Nai Wood and Handicraft Association (Dowa), commented that Dong Nai is the second largest locality in the country in terms of wood production and export, so it is very important for enterprises to make efforts to meet international standards. In recent times, Dowa has made efforts to connect with many international and domestic organizations to open training courses for member enterprises to improve production capacity and apply new technologies. In addition, the wood industry has also strengthened its links with forest growers and agricultural and forestry companies to build legal wood material areas, meeting anti-deforestation standards and other standards from demanding markets.
