Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi), Major General Le Dinh Cuong, Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, chaired a meeting on storm prevention and response to storm No. 13 with Coast Guard authorities.

To proactively respond to storm No. 13, the Vietnam Coast Guard has organized to disseminate and implement the instructions of all levels on storm prevention No. 13. The Coast Guard Command has issued a telegram to direct agencies and units. Strictly maintain the force of vehicles on duty, review plans and solutions for responding to natural disasters and search and rescue; organize reinforcement and bracing of warehouses and garages at key locations of unit barracks; fully supplement the amount of logistical and technical material reserves.

In his concluding remarks, Major General Le Dinh Cuong praised the proactive spirit of agencies and units in the work of preventing storm No. 13. The Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard emphasized: Units forecast to be directly affected by storm No. 13 must absolutely not be subjective, be ready and best prepare conditions to proactively prevent, combat and overcome the consequences caused by storms and heavy rains according to the motto "4 on-site", "3 ready", "5 proactive" plans for natural disaster prevention and control, ensuring the safety of life and health for forces directly performing tasks and the safety of officers, soldiers, headquarters, equipment, and working documents of the force.

At the same time, the Vietnam Coast Guard will establish an inspection team for storm prevention and control work at the Coast Guard Region 2 Command and the Coast Guard Region 3 Command. Major General Le Dinh Cuong requested the General Staff to develop a specific and detailed inspection plan, focusing on practical contents suitable to the reality of each unit.
