President Vo Van Thuong: Binh Phuoc needs to focus on economic development associated with national defense and security

On the afternoon of September 27, in Dong Xoai city, Politburo member and President Vo Van Thuong and the central working delegation had a working session with the Standing Committee of Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee.

The working session revolved around the results of security, defense, foreign affairs, and judicial reform work in the province.

At the meeting, President Vo Van Thuong acknowledged the outstanding results in the leadership and direction of the Standing Committee of Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee on the tasks of ensuring national defense, security, foreign affairs, judicial reform associated with socio -economic development; demonstrated through the Provincial Party Committee's issuance of programs and action plans to implement the Party's policies and resolutions in this field.

The province strictly maintains combat readiness, well manages border security, political security, order and social safety in the area. The religious and ethnic situation is basically stable; no complicated hot spots occur.

President Vo Van Thuong noted that Binh Phuoc needs to continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's policies and guidelines on national defense, security, and foreign affairs, in conjunction with socio-economic development, concretize them with action plans and programs, and have appropriate solutions to firmly protect sovereignty and territory, maintain national security, social order and safety, closely link national defense and security with socio-economic development, and improve people's lives, especially in ethnic minority and disadvantaged areas.

The President emphasized that the province needs to strengthen the work of grasping, analyzing, evaluating and forecasting the situation related to national defense and security in order to have effective plans to fight. Promote the role of the entire political system, especially village elders, village chiefs, and prestigious people in the community in mobilizing people to participate in denouncing wrongdoings from the very beginning.

Units actively innovate and improve the quality of training and exercises, enhance overall strength, level and combat readiness, and regularity; strictly maintain combat readiness, closely manage borders and inland areas; effectively respond to non-traditional security challenges; and perform well civil defense tasks, respond to natural disasters, and search and rescue.

According to the President, the province needs to continue to improve the quality of militia and reserve activities; attach importance to building regular militia and militia in key areas and border areas; continue to innovate and improve the quality of education and training in national defense and security knowledge, raise awareness, responsibility, obligations and actions of all people in protecting the Fatherland. At the same time, regularly organize border patrols, immigration management, and residence management; maintain order and security, especially at border gate areas.

Regarding foreign affairs, the President suggested that the province should continue to promote and further develop the good traditional relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia; strengthen coordination between foreign affairs and national defense and security, combined with economic - cultural - social development with the neighboring country, especially in border areas. The province closely coordinates with the functional forces of the neighboring country of Cambodia to organize patrols, protect the safety of border lines, landmarks, fight against crimes, etc.
