
At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his pleasure at meeting Singaporean Ambassador Jaya Ratnam and congratulated the Ambassador on successfully completing his term of office in Vietnam.
The National Assembly Chairman thanked Ambassador Jaya Ratnam for his many important contributions to the Vietnam-Singapore relationship, helping to strengthen political trust and enhance cooperation in trade, economy, tourism, science, technology, defense, security, education and training... between the two countries.
Notably, the two countries upgraded their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership during General Secretary To Lam's official visit to Singapore in March this year.
On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman thanked Ambassador Jaya Ratnam for coordinating the preparation of the National Assembly Chairman's official visit to Singapore at the end of 2024.
Emphasizing that the visit was a great success, the National Assembly Chairman also shared many specific cooperation results after the visit, including cooperation with Singaporean experts on building a digital National Assembly and applying artificial intelligence to the activities of the Vietnamese National Assembly over the past 8 months, which has brought very positive results.
In the overall bilateral relations, the National Assembly Chairman pointed out that the relationship between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Singaporean National Assembly has developed well recently. The two sides maintain high-level and committee-level visits; regularly meet and exchange on the sidelines of regional and international multilateral parliamentary conferences and forums.
On this occasion, through the Ambassador, the National Assembly Chairman respectfully sends greetings and regards to the President, Prime Minister and Speaker of the National Assembly of Singapore.
Ambassador Jaya Ratnam respectfully conveyed the greetings of Singapore's leaders to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and thanked the National Assembly Chairman for taking the time to meet him.
Sharing about his five years working in Vietnam, Ambassador Jaya Ratnam expressed his admiration for Vietnam's spirit of self-reliance, efforts to rise up and approach in solving challenges from the Covid-19 pandemic, natural disasters, severe storms and floods to complex fluctuations in the world situation.
Ambassador Jaya Ratnam sincerely thanked National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man for his active support during his term in Vietnam, especially for his important contributions to promoting Vietnam-Singapore relations. Ambassador Jaya Ratnam believes that in the coming time, Vietnam will develop further and become a developed economy in the world.
In particular, Vietnam is currently ranking higher and higher in the human development index. Believing that this is an index with a lot of value and meaning, Ambassador Jaya Ratnam believes that in the future, Vietnam will continue to progress further in this index.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his delight at the signing of the Action Program to implement the Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Partnership between the Prime Minister of Vietnam and the Prime Minister of Singapore; believed that the cooperation potential of the two countries will continue to be effectively and substantially exploited; and thanked Singapore for recently supporting Vietnamese localities to overcome the consequences of storms and floods.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Ambassador Jaya Ratnam both said that Vietnam and Singapore still have much room for cooperation in many different fields, such as digital transformation and green transformation; emphasizing that the two sides need to come up with priority areas to focus on promoting.
The two sides highly appreciated the effectiveness of the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks, which are a successful model of Singaporean investment in Vietnam and at the same time a testament to the trust and effectiveness in the cooperative relationship between the two countries.
The National Assembly Chairman hopes that the two countries will strengthen cooperation in areas such as green transformation, digital transformation, semiconductor chips, green energy, clean energy, and staff training.
* On the same afternoon, the National Assembly Chairman received Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Denny Abdi on the occasion of the end of his term of office.
At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his pleasure at meeting Ambassador Denny Abdi; congratulated the Ambassador on successfully completing his term of office in Vietnam with many important contributions to the Vietnam-Indonesia relationship; and congratulated the Ambassador on being appointed as Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The National Assembly Chairman emphasized: Vietnam and Indonesia have a long-standing traditional friendship, established by President Ho Chi Minh and President Sukarno and nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries over the past 70 years.
The relationship between the two countries is increasingly developing in all fields from politics, trade, investment, culture, education, defense, security to science and technology.
Notably, the two countries upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during General Secretary To Lam's visit to Indonesia in March this year.
Ambassador Denny Abdi sincerely thanked National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man for taking the time to meet him; and said that he has always received close coordination and active support from Vietnam during his time working in Vietnam.
Ambassador Denny Abdi emphasized that the Vietnam-Indonesia relationship has achieved very good results in recent times.
In particular, two-way trade turnover has had an extremely strong growth rate. Two-way investment has also developed extremely strongly, many large companies and corporations of Vietnam such as VinGroup, FPT or VietJet have invested in Indonesia and in the opposite direction, many large businesses and corporations of Indonesia have invested in Vietnam.
Ambassador Denny Abdi emphasized that Vietnam and Indonesia have similarities in foreign policy as both countries maintain independence and balance in relations with countries around the world. He said that the extremely good bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Indonesia has made an important contribution to the increasingly strong ASEAN.
Ambassador Denny Abdi expressed his belief that Vietnam and Indonesia will achieve the goal of becoming high-income countries by 2045, contributing to peace and prosperity in the world.
The National Assembly Chairman said that the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Indonesian National Assembly have a very good relationship. The legislative bodies of the two countries regularly exchange high-level delegations and committees to exchange and share operational experiences, especially in the fields of legislation and supervision.
The National Assembly Chairman believes that in the coming time, the two countries will actively implement the Action Program to implement the Vietnam-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, bringing about practical results for the benefit of the people of the two countries. The National Assembly Chairman hopes that the Ambassador in his new position will continue to make positive contributions to the Vietnam-Indonesia relationship.
On this occasion, through the Ambassador, the National Assembly Chairman respectfully sends greetings and regards to the President, Speaker of the House of Representatives and President of the Senate of Indonesia.
