In the letter, Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai province, Tran Huy Tuan, stated: In recent years, Yen Bai has always paid attention to and developed the cause of education and training; and has implemented many policies to attract and supplement the workforce for educational institutions.
However, due to the poor conditions of this mountainous province, its complex terrain, and difficult transportation, the current teaching staff in the province does not meet the required number, especially English and computer science teachers.
Faced with these difficulties, Yen Bai received timely and meaningful support and assistance from the Hanoi People's Committee and the Hanoi Department of Education and Training. In 2023-2024, 203 teachers from 122 schools in Hanoi participated in supporting online English teaching for 17 schools and 168 classes in 4 districts of Yen Bai (Van Chan, Van Yen, Tram Tau, Luc Yen), with over 2,100 lessons.
These are all competent teachers with good professional qualifications, a high sense of responsibility, IELTS certificates of 6.5 or higher, and most of them have participated in training courses in Australia.
In addition, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training facilitated the participation of the Yen Bai Provincial Department of Education and Training in several professional conferences and seminars; and allowed them to visit key educational institutions in the city. At the same time, it provided free access to the Hanoi On application for high school graduation exam preparation for officials, teachers, and 12th-grade students from the province.
This has contributed to the positive results in English language learning at the junior high school level and the results in the 2024 high school graduation exam in the province.
Expressing gratitude for the attention and support from the Hanoi People's Committee and the Hanoi education sector, Chairman of the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee Tran Huy Tuan hoped that in the future, they would continue to receive support and assistance to contribute to improving the quality of teaching and learning.
It is known that teachers from Hanoi participating in the program to support English teaching for students in 4 districts of Yen Bai province are very enthusiastic and responsible, preparing their lessons thoroughly and regularly exchanging information with the school and teaching assistants.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training also organized a workshop on the application of information technology in teaching English, the smart classroom model using artificial intelligence and the LMS platform for English teachers in Yen Bai province via online format.
In addition to supporting the education sector in Yen Bai province, Hanoi has also enthusiastically assisted teachers and students in many mountainous provinces in the North. Through the program "Schools working together for development - teachers sharing responsibility" launched by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, many teachers from inner-city schools have participated in helping teachers from suburban schools to jointly improve the quality of education.
The aforementioned meaningful programs and activities demonstrate the pioneering spirit of Hanoi's education and training sector and affirm that the digital transformation of Hanoi's education sector has made remarkable progress.
