
According to the report of the People's Committee of Luong Son commune, from October 27 to 30, prolonged heavy rains caused the Luy River to rise, flooding more than 842 houses, of which 438 were flooded more than 1 meter deep. The whole commune had 695 hectares of crops affected, mainly rice, crops and fruit trees; more than 2,500 household items were damaged, livestock and poultry suffered significant damage.
Some sections of National Highway 1A passing through the area were flooded, Luong Son 1 Primary School was affected. Total damage is estimated at over 30.5 billion VND.

Faced with that situation, Luong Son commune has promoted the "4 on-site" motto, mobilizing local forces to support people, clean the environment, distribute medicine, food and give more than 300 gifts and 250 bags of rice to households in flooded areas.
At the meeting, comrade Pham Thi Phuc assessed that Luong Son commune was one of the localities that suffered heavy damage in the recent flood, but the Party Committee, government and people of the commune were proactive and timely in responding and overcoming the consequences.

He praised the efforts of local forces who promptly helped people relocate their properties, supported people in flood prevention, and quickly stabilized their lives.

At the same time, he requested Luong Son commune to continue to review and specifically assess the damage, and have appropriate support solutions to help people stabilize their lives and restore production. In the immediate future, the Provincial Party Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province will support 1 billion VND to help Luong Son commune overcome difficulties, restore infrastructure and people's lives.

On this occasion, comrade Pham Thi Phuc and the working delegation directly visited, presented gifts and support money to households still deeply flooded, including the family of Mr. Le Van Chung and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tiem in Luong Bac village; at the same time presented support gifts to Tan Son and Luong Bac villages - the areas most heavily affected by the flood.
