On May 25, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police said they are planning to put into operation phase 2 of the smart traffic system, automatic surveillance by cameras in the province.

Phase 2 of the intelligent traffic system, automatic monitoring by camera, is deployed on National Highways 55 and 56 in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
According to the provincial police, the equipment has been completely installed and is currently undergoing trial operation on these two national highways.
Previously, phase 1 of the intelligent traffic system, automatic monitoring by cameras of Ba Ria - Vung Tau was deployed on National Highway 51 from October 15, 2021 with 89 cameras to monitor lane encroachment, driving on the wrong side of the road, stopping and parking in violation of regulations, not obeying traffic lights... from Long Son intersection (Ward 12, Vung Tau City) to the end of Phu My town.
During operation, the system recorded and was notified by the Provincial Police of 13,433 violations, sanctioned and paid to the budget more than 14 billion VND.
At the same time, images from traffic surveillance cameras also help authorities quickly solve crimes, serve the investigation and capture of criminals.
According to the provincial police leader, the implementation of the intelligent traffic system and automatic camera monitoring has contributed to reducing traffic safety violations on National Highway 51 in recent times.
The unit is expected to officially operate phase 2 of the intelligent traffic system, automatic monitoring by camera on June 20, 2023.
The operation of traffic monitoring and punishment of both phases will help raise people's awareness when participating in traffic, contributing to ensuring security, order and traffic safety on national highways in the coming time.
