While studying in Germany, Uyen Ninh made videos about multiculturalism in daily life, unexpectedly receiving a lot of attention from social media users.
Ninh Thi Uyen (27 years old, commonly known as Uyen Ninh), is a social media content creator in Germany . In April 2023, Uyen had an interview with the online video technology site Tubefilter about her fate in the content creation profession, and her interesting experiences while living, studying, and working in Germany.
Uyen Ninh said she and her German boyfriend had been in a long-distance relationship for 3 years. In 2019, she followed the "call of love" and moved to Germany to live with her boyfriend while pursuing her education.
"At that time, I completely trusted my boyfriend. I also had a dream of studying abroad in Germany, so I just went there," Uyen recalled.

In Uyen's eyes, Germany was completely foreign to Vietnam. At first, she had a hard time adapting. She couldn't get used to the cold, dry weather, and the food consisted of a lot of bread and dairy products. In addition, Uyen found German quite difficult to learn. It took her 3 years to understand and talk to her neighbors in this language.
In return, the girl quite likes public transport in Germany. She can go anywhere without having her own car. In addition, she also appreciates the health care system in Germany, which is accessible and affordable for everyone.
One thing that surprised Uyen was that tap water in Germany is drinkable. "The first time I saw people turn on the tap and drink directly, I couldn't believe my eyes, it was like a miracle," Uyen told the German-based website deutschland.de .

During her time in Germany, due to the Covid-19 lockdown, Uyen could not go out and felt depressed. At that time, she thought of sharing her experience of living in Germany with others.
"At first I wrote on Facebook, but no one read it because I'm not good at writing," Uyen said.
After that, she continued to try making videos in Vietnamese and posting them on Facebook, but no one watched them either. "Maybe I'm in Germany and not many people speak Vietnamese here. I continued making videos in English, recording the experiences of foreigners in Germany, and surprisingly, the number of viewers increased rapidly," Uyen shared.
Currently, her YouTube, TikTok and Instagram channels all have more than 1 million followers, with each video always having over 500,000 views.
The video Uyen made has a cheerful and humorous atmosphere, telling the story of Germany through the perspective of Vietnamese people, the cultural differences between the two countries. The video content attracts foreigners, immigrants living in Germany and multicultural couples from all over the world . The reason is that they see themselves in the story of the Vietnamese girl, from the shock of the weather, to the difference in eating, moving, sleeping...
In a conversation with deutschland.de , Uyen said she felt lucky to have everyone's support and not receive many negative comments from the online community.
"People who watch my videos say they can relate to my experiences and appreciate the humorous and light-hearted way I tell stories. Some people also say they have never been to Germany and have no plans to move there, but they enjoy watching my videos to learn about cultural differences," Uyen shared.
In the past, Uyen Ninh was very shy to appear in front of people and thought she had no potential, and that no matter how hard she tried, she would fail. However, when she became a content creator, her life changed and got better every day. Uyen is more confident in herself, can be financially independent without the help of her boyfriend. Sometimes she even invites her lover to eat at restaurants or travel . Currently, the two are engaged and preparing to get married.

Thinking back to 2019, Uyen finds that going to a foreign country for love is very brave and romantic. Uyen advises young people who intend to do so to talk to their other half about their plans, concerns and expectations. Be honest and straightforward and everything will be fine.
Uyen thought: "I was happy to meet my lover at the age of 21. At that time, I was very naive and did not have many negative experiences. I was willing to go to Germany because of love. I trusted him and invested 100% in our relationship. If I met my lover at the age of 27, I would not have done so because of all the worries in the world."
