After 20 months of construction, today (April 19), the Tan Son Nhat Airport Terminal 3 project with a total investment of nearly 11,000 billion VND will be officially inaugurated.

According to information from the Ministry of Construction , on the morning of April 19, this unit will coordinate with many ministries and localities to organize the inauguration of Terminal T3 Project, Tan Son Nhat International Airport and a series of other key projects across the country.

Accordingly, after more than 20 months of drastic construction "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", "construction through holidays, through Tet", the project to build Passenger Terminal T3 - Tan Son Nhat International Airport invested by ACV has reached the finish line right on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), completed 2 months ahead of schedule compared to the plan.

The T3 passenger terminal project is a key project, playing a particularly important role in nearly doubling the operating capacity of Tan Son Nhat International Airport, contributing to the completion of traffic infrastructure and reducing congestion inside and outside the area.

The T3 Passenger Terminal Construction Project - Tan Son Nhat International Airport includes main items: Passenger terminal, high-rise parking lot combined with non-aviation services, overpass system in front of the terminal and aircraft parking lot with a total investment of 10,990 billion VND.

The terminal is equipped with 90 traditional check-in counters, 20 automated baggage drop counters and 42 self-service check-in kiosks.

The passenger terminal has a scale of 1 basement and 4 floors above ground, with a total floor area of ​​112,500 m2. The terminal has a linear shape similar to the existing terminal, designed into 2 separate departure and arrival levels.

Terminal T3 has 90 traditional airline check-in counters, 20 automatic bagdrop counters and 42 check-in kiosks, 27 boarding gates (including 13 telescopic gates and 14 bus gates), 6 departure baggage handling islands and 10 arrival baggage return islands, and 25 passenger security control gates.

In particular, Terminal T3 is designed with 8 security control gates and a separate area to serve VIP, business class and priority guests.

The high-rise parking complex combined with non-aviation services is a complex of 2 basements and 4 upper floors with a total floor area of ​​130,000 m2, which is a parking lot, shopping center, hotel, and restaurant serving passengers.

Previously, on the morning of April 17, flight VN1286 of Vietnam Airlines from Ho Chi Minh City to Van Don, operated by Airbus A321 with 105 passengers, took off from passenger terminal T3 - marking the milestone of Vietnam Airlines becoming the first airline to operate commercial flights at this new terminal.

In addition to the T3 terminal project at Tan Son Nhat airport, the Ministry of Construction also said that it will simultaneously organize an online inauguration ceremony for 5 expressways to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). The 5 projects include: Bai Vot - Ham Nghi (length 35km); Ham Nghi - Vung Ang (length 54km); Bung - Van Ninh (length 49km); Van Phong - Nha Trang (about 70/83km) and Ben Luc - Long Thanh (length 57.8km).

According to the Ministry of Construction, there are currently 85 projects and works of ministries, branches and localities registered to start construction and inaugurate on April 19.
