Once forbidden by her family to go to school, when she became a teacher, she had creative teaching methods that brought excitement to students every class. Becoming famous on social networks with a TikTok channel that attracted more than 1.5 million likes, teacher Nguyen Thi Thu Huong has proven that "passion and determination can overcome all challenges".

Run away from home... to take the teacher training exam

Her family's circumstances were difficult and she had no means, but with determination to pursue her education, Ms. Huong secretly went to school and took the university entrance exam without her parents' permission.

Ms. Huong shared: “My family was poor, my parents did not let me go to school but wanted me to go to work. At that time, I had to drop out of school to go to work, but because of my passion and thirst for knowledge, I believed that knowledge would be the key to changing my life. I was determined to study, so I secretly enrolled in a work-study program, also known as a supplementary program. When I could not arrange my time, I talked to my parents about going to school, but they strongly opposed it and refused to let me take the exam. I had to continue to sneak out to take the exam until I passed the university entrance exam, then my parents had a different view.”

After finishing the exam, Ms. Huong immediately found a part-time job to earn money to cover living expenses. Despite the difficulties, Ms. Huong never gave up.

At that time, Ms. Huong chose to major in education simply because she did not have to pay tuition. It seemed like a reluctant decision, but over time, the female teacher grew to love and be attached to the profession.

"The more I get involved, the more I feel the noble and sacred mission of the teaching profession," the female teacher expressed. At first, it was like that, but later, teacher Huong found herself very true to the saying "the profession chooses the person."

Becoming famous on social networks with innovative and creative teaching methods

The young teacher believes that teaching is not simply about imparting knowledge. Especially with Literature, a special subject, related to perception and aesthetic ability.

Ms. Huong said that from the very first days of teaching, she was aware of the need to innovate and diversify teaching methods to make students feel interested and happy. Literature is a special subject, if only taught normally, it will make students feel dry, difficult to remember and leave little impression, teachers can easily become "anesthetists" in the eyes of students.

Not teaching in a conventional way, each of her lessons always applies many different teaching methods such as: giving students a system of knowledge using mind maps, decorating according to the lesson theme, telling stories with music , dramatizing works, STEM system... Recently, the female teacher also creatively let students design information about authors and literary works according to the Facebook interface with posts on personal pages that must show the author's life and creative career, making students interested.

Nguyen Thanh Vinh, a student of class 12A12, Nhon Trach High School, shared that Ms. Huong's teaching methods are very interesting, making him feel interested, pay more attention to the lecture and remember more knowledge. Vinh himself really likes the method of drawing mind maps, through which he can both review and remember according to his own creativity.

In addition, teacher Huong also proactively applies information technology, designs games that integrate literary knowledge in each class hour such as: playing online through Quizizz software, crossword puzzles... to warm up, mobilize background knowledge and practice students' ability to memorize. She also applies diverse forms of returning lessons: turning over the notebook to return lessons, rolling dice, shaking fortune-telling... creating a fun, surprising, and exciting atmosphere for each class.

Ms. Huong also started sharing her teaching methods on social media platforms. The videos that Ms. Huong posted on TikTok always received a "huge" number of views, with some videos reaching up to 3 million views.

Sharing about her TikTok channel with nearly 90,000 followers and attracting more than 1.5 million likes, the young teacher said: "Recently, I often post moments at school, including teaching methods, and I was surprised to receive a lot of attention. Some teachers also texted and asked me to share positive teaching methods."

According to this female teacher, in the digital age, innovation in teaching methods is very important and necessary. This not only helps students absorb knowledge easily but also helps promote creativity, stimulate thinking, and prepare them firmly to enter the era of technology.

On the contrary, if teaching is not innovated, it will become outdated, not meeting the needs of learners, reducing the adaptability of young people in the digital environment.
