The organizers gave gifts to sick children at the launching ceremony.

During this month of action, all patients with cleft lip and palate over 3 months old can register to participate. The children will receive 100% free surgery to close the cleft lip and will be partially supported with travel and food expenses during the hospital stay.

According to the organizers, with the motto of helping children integrate into life easily, in addition to plastic surgery to close cleft lip and palate, children need attention and multidisciplinary treatment such as: speech therapy, orthodontics, cosmetic surgery...

In the near future, Hue Central Hospital will work with Smile Train to build a Cleft Lip and Palate Center in the Central region to examine and provide free treatment for children with speech rehabilitation after surgery, as well as orthodontic techniques for the children.

At the ceremony, Dr. Mai Dinh Dieu, Deputy Director of Hue Central Hospital, thanked Smile Train for its attention, support and active assistance. Mr. Dieu hoped that the program would be spread to contribute to comprehensive care for the people.

Since 2010, Smile Train has cooperated with the Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Hue Central Hospital to regularly perform surgeries for disadvantaged patients suffering from cleft lip and palate, correcting ugly lip scars, and jaw defects. To date, more than 1,000 cases have been operated on free of charge, bringing smiles and happiness to thousands of families and patients.
